WWE RAW Live Results (August 26, 2024): Uncle Howdy's violent in-ring debut; Two stars advance to the Intercontinental Championship Tournament Finals

Uncle Howdy picks up his first win with Sister Abigail

An Olympic Slam that would make Kurt Angle blush

Howdy escapes the hold, sending Gable into the ref. As Gable realizes what's happened, he's caught by the old Mandible Claw. American Made rushes the ring and pulls Howdy to the floor. As he laughs, the lights go out. When they return, the rest of the Wyatts jump American Made.
Back in the ring, now that the ref has awoken, Gable goes for the moonsault. Howdy rolls away and plants Gable with the Sister Abigail!!

Uncle Howdy defeats Chad Gable via pinfall.

Gable is draped over the top rope, and Howdy drives him into the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. Before he can hit Sister Abigail, Ivy Nile rushes the ring and distracts the ref. Gable locks in the ankle lock!

Howdy's planted with a handful of German suplexes. He goes for Chaos Theory, but Howdy holds onto the turnbuckle to block and hangs backward like Bray Wyatt. Gable rushes in and is spiked with the Uranage Slam!!

Gable counters a Sister Abigail on the table, instead planting Howdy with an Angle Slam!! Somehow, Howdy's able to get back to the ring. Gable rushes him and takes him up top for a sky-high avalanche belly-to-belly suplex!! Again, Howdy refuses to quit and kicks out of the pin!

Thanks to those chants, Gable makes a huge mistake, running into a waiting Howdy, who sends him flying with a back body drop. Howdy follows with a running hip attack into the barricade before tearing apart the announcer's desk.

Gable launches Howdy over the ropes with a belly-to-belly suplex. He follows with a diving crossbody off the top, crashing onto the leader of The Wyatt Sicks. "YOU SUCK" chants echo out, frustrating Master Gable.

As we come back from the break, Corey Graves attempts to explain Uncle Howdy. "Physically, this IS Bo Dallas. I fought Bo Dallas. But this is not Bo Dallas. Mentally, this is something different."

Uncle Howdy starts the match by dancing with Gable, much like Bray Wyatt used to do when he'd battered his opponent into a bloody pulp. Gable breaks away but is caught by the Bo Dazzler, Dallas's old arm-trapped powerslam finisher. Gable is shocked and sent to the floor as Howdy chants, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."

It's time for the main event. It's Uncle Howdy's "debut" as he faces Chad Gable.

After that, we hear from Michael Cole and Corey Graves regarding Sycho Sid. Cole says one of the first to welcome him on his first day in WWE was Sid. Sid was one of the nicest people he ever met, and he's deeply saddened to hear of his passing today. We get a great video package honoring the Master and Ruler of the World, both his on-screen and in-ring presence and his massive heart behind the screen.

Rest in Peace, big man.

The Terror Twins, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, take pride in being villains. "Yeah, we're bad guys." They say it's fun to be bad, and at Bash in Berlin, they'll learn just what kind of villains they are. They promise to be the devils for Judgment Day.

Interesting to hear them actually admit to being the bad guys there. At least they're not lying about it.

We get a vignette recapping the feud between American Made and The Wyatt Sicks. Gable says that he's going to prove to Bo Dallas or Uncle Howdy why he is American Made. Will the Olympian be able to defeat a man led by tragedy and fate? We'll find out in the main event!

Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker is interviewed backstage regarding the two finalists of the tournament. He says that nobody from Jey Uso's family has ever whooped anyone from his, and Jey won't be the first to change that. As far as Pete Dunne, Breakker scoffs at the idea of losing to him. "Pete Dunne? Psh, no way."

Woods kicks out and breaks up the submission before hitting the Limit Break Elbow on Miz. Dunne pulls the ref out to stop the pin and rushes in to boot Woods' face off. Dunne finishes things with a Bitter End on Miz to advance!
He joins Jey Uso in the finals of the tournament, where they'll meet two other competitors in a Fatal Four-Way to determine Bron Breakker's next contender.

Pete Dunne defeats The Miz via pinfall.

Woods and Dunne avoid a double Skull Crushing Finale, but Miz is able to plant Woods with it. Dunne sends Miz to the floor to try and steal the win, but only for Miz to pull him off the pin. Dunne locks Miz in a cross-face, but instead of fighting to break out, Miz tries to lay his arm on Woods for a pin.

Miz knocks Dunne to the floor and goes for a springboard crossbody on Woods. The former King of the Ring rolls through in the "Mark Henry Spot" and plants Miz with a brainbuster. He follows with another suplex into a gutbuster, leaving Miz in a bad way. Woods then powerbombs Dunne onto The A-Lister!

When did Woods become the power man of The New Day??

Back from the break, Woods is getting the best of the Bruiserweight Pete Dunne. Woods rocks Dunne with a series of running attacks in the corner and launches the former UK Champion with a giant swing! Miz rolls in, though, and takes over. He spikes both competitors with a pair of DDTs and fires up with the IT Kicks.

Before the break, all three competitors are brawling on the floor. Miz hits a tornado DDT on Dunne, using the barricade for some extra push as he rocks Xavier Woods with a roundhouse mid-swing! The A-Lister continues to up his game!

Next up is the final Intercontinental Championship Tournament Triple Threat of the night. The Miz battles Pete Dunne and Xavier Woods for a shot at glory.

Braun Strowman: "I can't feel my fingers..."

Braun Strowman chokeslams Bronson Reed onto a car!

When we come back from the break, we're told Bronson Reed refused medical treatment. We see Braun Strowman in agony as he claims he can't feel his fingers.

Before Braun can finish Bronson with a chokeslam off a car, Bronson hammers him in the side of the head with a lead pipe! He cracks Braun's spine a few times for good measure before getting up on a ledge for a Tsunami! Bronson Reed's weight nearly drives Braun through the roof of the car!!

RAW General Manager Adam Pearce screams for the medical team. I'm not sure if we're going to see Braun Strowman anytime soon.

Braun and Bronson battle out of the building into the parking lot. Bronson nearly drives a piece of the set into Strowman, only for Braun to stop him and chokeslam him onto the hood of a car. We can hear Bronson coughing, struggling to get his breath back after such a nasty slam. Braun launches him across another car with a shoulder tackle!

Braun is slammed into the LED screen on the stage but not through it before Bronson runs to the back. He waits around a corner with a trash can, but it only stalls The Monster of all Monsters momentarily. "I'm not finished with you!!"

Back from the break, Bronson spikes Braun with a DDT. As he moves up for the Tsunami, Braun launches him off and halfway across the ring! Braun slams into Bronson in the corner and sets him up for the powerslam. Reed escapes and escapes a chokeslam on the apron. He digs into Braun's eyes to break the grip before escaping up the ramp.

Braun Strowman is STILL an absolute beast of a man

Bronson responds with his own crossbody, diving off Bret's rope (the second and most dangerous rope) to flatten the big man! Braun ends up on the floor, and Bronson hits a suicide dive as we cut to the break! I didn't expect these two to leave their feet this much. This is insane!

Braun stuns Bronson with a running dropkick right out of the gate! I always forget just how fast Braun can be when he gets moving. Bronson recovers, though, and bowls through the former Universal Champion before hammering him in the corner. Braun flies into Bronson's arms with a massive running crossbody!

Will Randy Orton leave Berlin with gold?

Randy Orton debates giving a fan an autograph or getting to the ring

Much like last week, Orton calls out Gunther for making this personal. "All this had to be about was the World Heavyweight Championship, but you had to talk about my family and my demons." He says his demons are more dangerous than he will ever be, and at Bash in Berlin...just like his demons, he'll put Gunther down and become a 15-time World Champion.

Randy states that at Bash in Berlin, he'll be facing one of the most dominant superstars in WWE for the chance to leave his print on that title. He'll also be facing someone with their head firmly shoved up their own...uh...backside. The arrogance of Gunther is something that Randy understands, as he talks to us about having to grow up in front of our eyes over the past two decades. Gunther's also an egotistical j*rk, but Gunther came to WWE in his mid-30s.

Randy also says that Gunther has yet to be humbled, and that's what happens at Bash in Berlin.

Randy Orton thanks the WWE Universe for being invested in him and says he's forever grateful despite the fact that it took them a while to get to this point. He goes over his history with the World Heavyweight Title, becoming the youngest to hold it back in 2004 at SummerSlam and also being the FINAL champion before it was retired in 2013.

He says the new World Title came about when he was recovering from spinal surgery, and his goal is to place his name in the legacy of this gold.

On his way to the ring, Randy Orton is stopped on the ramp as a young fan begs for an autograph on his sign. Randy pauses, motions to the ring, but decides to sign it anyway. Good guy, Randy is still struggling to be a good guy Randy.

Maybe he'll RKO that kid in a few years.
