WWE RAW Results, Live recap, Grades: CM Punk confronts Cody Rhodes for the first time since AEW?

The war of words is visceral! Both the veteran stars are not even thinking of backing down!

CM Punk makes it clear that he is going to win the Royal Rumble and go for Cody's title. Cody does not seem pleased.

Punk is hyping Cody Rhodes up. He cautions Cody against the dangers of being a champion. Cody seems unfazed.

CM Punk comes in out of nowhere! He seems to be friendly with Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes gets back up and starts talking on the mic. He talks about what it means to be a champion.

Sami is stunned as Drew exits with a smirk. Kevin Owens seems happy as he leaves too.

Drew has Cody on the ropes. He sees a Helluva kick from Sami Zayn coming and moves out of the way. The kick connects with Cody Rhodes!

Cody Rhodes appears to stop Drew from beating down Sami Zayn! But Kevin Owens also joins to attack Cody.

Sami has a burst of energy, and he takes control of the match. His helluva kick fails, and Drew counters with a roll up pin. Drew's pin is not exactly legal, since his feet were on the ropes, but the referee is unaware.

Drew McIntyre wins!

Drew McIntyre goes for a top rope move, but Sami counters with a sunset flip powerbomb. His pin attempt ends in a two count, though.

Both the stars seem exhausted by now. Sami is still doing his best to fight the relentless assault from Drew. A clothesline takes the Scottish Warrior down. Is this Sami's chance?

Sami swings off the ropes and executes a picture-perfect DDT. Drew is down, but Sami is busted open too!

A slam from Drew takes Sami down. Drew goes for a pin, but to no avail. He resorts to brutalizing Sami with some heavy chops to the chest.

A springboard to the outside takes down Drew McIntyre, but not for long. Drew gets back in control after they re-enter the ring.

Sami has not won a single match in his last ten matches against Drew McIntyre, so this will be an uphill battle for him.

Next up is Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre.

Penta talks about his plans in WWE in a promo package. He seems confident about his future.

Rhea Ripley is backstage in an interview, talking about the upcoming Royal Rumble. She doesn't seem to be bothered by any opponent. Bayley appears, and Rhea wishes her good luck.

The chaos allows Liv to take Naomi by surprise! She goes for a pin and wins!

Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan win!

Liv and Raquel wrestle back control with some difficulty. Bianca grabs Liv for a pin, but Dominik interrupts!

Bianca is unstoppable right now. She takes on both Raquel and Liv, still managing to stay on top.

Naomi goes down after a massive slam on her head. She manages to tag in Bianca, who is fired up.

All stars are in the ring as a brawl breaks out. Bianca and Naomi stand tall after the scuffle though.

Liv and Raquel double-team Naomi and try a pin, but it's a two-count. Naomi tags in Bianca, who goes for a pin, too, but no win is in sight for now.

Bianca opens the match-up with Liv. The Judgment Day member goes for Bianca's ponytail immediately. When that fails, she tags in Raquel.

Next up is Bianca Belair & Naomi vs. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.

Lyra Valkyria is backstage in an interview. She has some big news for tonight. She declares her participation in the Royal Rumble!

Jey Uso makes it clear that he is in the Royal Rumble to win it. He wants to main event WrestleMania.

Uso says he needed that support from the fans. He talks about his loss at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Jey Uso is in the arena! He enters with his usual electric reception!

Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn are backstage, talking about what happened last week. Sami apologizes for his mistake. Seth seems to accept the apology but warns him not to repeat it.

Xavier Woods spots his family sporting NEW DAY sucks t-shirts. The distraction is enough for Rey Mysterio to take back control, picking up the win!

A sunset flip powerbomb leads to Woods being rolled up for a pin, but it's a two-count. However, Xavier is in the perfect position for a 619!

Mysterio goes for a top rope move and connects. But Xavier recovers quite quickly and resumes his assault on Rey.

Both the stars seem tired. Rey Mysterio tries to change things up, but Xavier interrupts with a beautiful counter.

Kofi Kingston is ringside, trying to influence the commentary team to praise Woods. Xavier is still holding his own in the ring.

Mysterio goes down for a second before getting back in control. But Xavier Woods isn't backing down either.

JD McDonagh is proving he is tougher than it looks. He takes a huge bump but seems to be okay as he stands back up.
