WWE SmackDown Live Results (October 13, 2023): Former world champion debuts, Roman Reigns returns, Jade Cargill, & more!

It looks like Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight will be happening for Crown Jewel, though no official announcement was given. That will wrap up tonight's coverage of SmackDown!

We'll be back on Monday to cover the season premiere of Monday Night RAW!

As LA Knight celebrates his win, Roman Reigns shows up out of nowhere and hits a massive spear! He stands tall over The Megastar, taunting him as SmackDown comes to a close.

The two men hit each other. Jimmy Uso tries to interfere, but John Cena shows up to thwart it, hitting Jimmy with the AA!

Knight hits the BFT and pins Solo 1-2-3!

LA Knight defeats Solo Sikoa by pinfall

Knight attempts a sunset flip, and Solo jumps to squash him, but LA moves. Solo misses a splash in the corner. He goes for another one and misses, hitting his head on the ring post. Knight begins hitting his big YEAH! jabs, but Solo doesn't fall. Knight then hits a huge clothesline and DDT to Solo!

The Megastar begins hitting his stomps in the corner, much to the joy of the audience. He then hits the running knee. He goes briefly, but Solo pops up only to get slammed. LA Knight's strength is incredibly impressive!

Michael Cole praises Solo and points out how he's only been around for a year but has made such a big impression. Solo then hits the running hip check into the corner.

Knight starts fighting back, and each strike gets a YEAH chant, but Solo quickly retakes control, only to be hit by a back elbow and a bulldog off the top rope! Knight is trying to build momentum but gets leveled with a Samoan Drop.

Back from break, Solo Sikoa has LA Knight locked in a nerve hold. The crowd starts getting behind Knight, and The Megastar fights back. He throws big elbows and tries to slam Sikoa but Solo is too big, and Knight's back gives out. Solo then levels Knight with a beautiful belly-to-belly suplex.

The two stars go back and forth, with LA Knight taking control. Something went wrong with the lights, causing a weird glare in the arena and distracting the fans.

LA tries to suplex Solo from the apron onto the floor but can't, and Sikoa cuts Knight off by slamming him into the ring post. SmackDown goes to another break.

It is time for the main event!

Solo Sikoa vs. LA Knight

Solo immediately attempts to use his power, but Knight keeps hitting big strikes. Every time Knight hits Solo, the crowd chants, "YEAH!"

Back from break, and WWE promotes next week's show.

IYO SKY will go one-on-one with Charlotte Flair with the WWE Women's Championship on the line.
Santos Escobar will go one-on-one with Montez Ford.

The Bloodline's music hits as Jey and Cody walk to the back. Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso come out staring down the champions. Could we see brothers fight?

Roman and Paul follow behind, and Reigns & Rhodes have a staredown! Officials quickly arrive to separate everybody.

Theory hits a unique suplex neckbreaker to Cody, but Jey interrupts the count. Uso hits Waller with a superkick, then hits one on Austin. They then hit the Co-D 1-D! Jey dives to the floor onto Waller, and Rhodes finishes Theory off with the Cross Rhodes for the win!

It was a strong clean victory for the champions.

Back from break, Austin Theory is in control, beating down Jey Uso. Both Waller and Theory are talking a lot of smack.

Jey finally fights them off, and Cody gets into a big applause! He goes up and over, and power slams Austin before hitting The Disaster Kick! Waller is tossed out but rolls back in only to eat a Disaster Kick, too!

WWE shows the video posted to social media of A-Town Down Under accepting the title match for tonight. Cody and Grayson Waller kick things off. Rhodes gets the upper hand quickly, so Grayson tags out to Theory. The same happens, and Waller tags back in while loud "Cody" chants echo throughout the area.

Jey tags in and dumps Waller to the floor, but Theory has tagged in and jumps Jey. Uso begins fighting back, but Waller provides enough distraction for Jey to get thrown into the ring post. A-Town Down Under is in control as we go to break.

The Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill teaser will get people talking.

Next up, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes are out individually for their tag team title match. Cody gives his weight belt to an excited fan.

Can A-Town Down Under win the gold?

Back from break, and WWE airs an excellent video promoting Dragon Lee. Backstage, Chelsea Green and Piper Niven are shown talking to Nick Aldis. Chelsea and Piper are frustrated at people claiming the belts are cursed. Nick Aldis quickly cuts them off, saying he needs to speak to Charlotte instead.

Nick addresses Charlotte's controversial loss at Fastlane and makes a match for the WWE Women's Championship next week! IYO vs. Charlotte!

Then, when she goes to leave, she bumps into Jade Cargill, who is with Triple H! They tease tension and split. Wow!

Solo and Jimmy leave Roman's locker room, and he's clearly frustrated with Uso. Will Jimmy remain part of The Bloodline, or even be officially accepted back in? For now, his future with the group is unclear.

A Crown Jewel ad then airs before they go to commercials.

Kevin Owens comes to the ring and hits Dominik with a stunner. He then celebrates with Pearce, Nick Aldis, and Triple H.

Roman Reigns is shown backstage, and he's unhappy Kevin is back. He then points out that Jey and Cody are around because of the tag team titles, and he's showing frustration with Jimmy.

Nick says he expects healthy competition between Pearce's RAW and his SmackDown. He then says he's a big fan of... Dom's dad. Nick then reminds fans of the trade that moved Jey Uso to RAW. Dominik says nobody cares when Aldis is about to introduce which RAW star is joining SmackDown.

It is then revealed that Kevin Owens has joined SmackDown!

Triple H says, "Wow, I always thought people pumped in that noise," referring to Dirty Dom's heat, mocking the online conspiracy theory.

Triple H says you're talking to the wrong guy, and it should be the SmackDown General Manager he talks to - he then introduces former NWA Champion Nick Aldis!

Before Triple H can reveal the GM for SmackDown, Dominik Mysterio shockingly interrupts! He says The Judgment Day got screwed at Fastlane. The crowd is loudly booing him, which Triple H and Pearce seem to love.

Triple H praises Adam more and thanks him. He then says that the job is challenging and not one anybody should do alone. Now Pearce will not do it alone, and he's getting a promotion. Pearce is now the new General Manager of Monday Night RAW!

The crowd gives Triple H a lot of love. He seems to be in a good mood. Notably, Adam Peace is in the ring with him. LOUD Triple H chants echo throughout the arena. He says a big part of him misses that, then points out how electric it is tonight.

Triple H mentions that Survivor Series is around the corner and that it all starts tonight. He then pivots and says he wants to give attention to an unsung hero of WWE - which is Adam Pearce. He praises his career as an in-ring performer, which is very sweet. Triple H then says Pearce has done an incredible job doing a thankless job for the past three years.

Back from break and WWE plugs tickets for the 2024 Royal Rumble which go on sale next week. Meanwhile, LA Knight vs. Solo Sikoa has been confirmed for tonight.

And here comes Triple H!

Triple H's special announcement is next!

Zelina begins mounting a comeback and hits a 619 variation from the first rope, dodging interference from Dakota in the process. She hits the Meteora but IYO causes a distraction. Bayley hits the Rose Plant and its all over.

Bayley defeats Zelina Vega by pinfall.

Post-match, Damage CTRL begins attacking Vega but Charlotte Flair rushes down to ringside to clear the stable from the ring. She's not done with IYO SKY and the dangerous trio.

Back from break and the commentary team recaps IYO SKY's win at Fastlane and how Bayley's distraction played a role in it.

Zelina makes her entrance for the match without any LWO members by her side, as they're likely with Carlito. Now she has to battle the 6-time champion Bayley and brings the fight to The Role Model right away. Bayley eventually takes control while the commentary team discusses the dynamics within Damage CTRL.

Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL are now out!

Bayley vs. Zelina Vega

The match will start as we return from break. IYO SKY and Dakota Kai are ringside.

Back from break, the LWO and Dragon Lee are checking on Carlito alongside officials. Bayley tries talking smack, but Zelina gets in her face. This leads to an argument. Adam Pearce then makes an impromptu match between the two!

Jimmy Uso is then shown backstage with The Bloodline. Roman asks what he's doing, and Jimmy says he's trying to be like Roman. Reigns asks what Jimmy would do, and Jimmy says get Jey.

Roman said Jey is old news, and the focus should be on getting the tag team titles. Reigns asks if Jimmy is good, and he says "yeet," which Roman says he doesn't like and for Jimmy not to do it again.

Kayla Braxton is backstage with Carlito rocking a new shirt, not a LWO shirt. He talks about his return, but Bobby Lashley interrupts him. This leads to Carlito challenging Lashley to his first match back. Lashley says he's not ready, and The Street Profits jump Carito!

Bobby is about to hit him with a chair, but WWE officials show up before he can. Welcome back, Carlito.

As expected, it was a ruse! Kit hit Ridge, and Elton quickly pinned him. Pretty Deadly win!

Pretty Deadly defeats The Brawling Brutes

We then go to a video package on Carlito's return at Fastlane.

Ridge Holland powers both members of Pretty Dealy around, hitting massive slams and throws. Elton tries fighting back, but Ridge presses him into a powerslam. A two-count is interrupted by Kit, but Butch rushes in. They fight on the apron, and Kit backdrops Butch on the apron! That's the most challenging part of the ring!

Elton seems hurt, but Ridge isn't buying it. The referee pushes him away as Kit checks on Elton. This seems fishy.

Prince is stomping Butch while Cole reveals Elton Prince was the face of a dating app. The Bruiserweight eventually hurt Elton's fingers, but Kit tags in before Butch can tag out. The pair try to double-team again, but Butch fights back. As he crawls to make a tag, Pretty Deadly gets back in the ring, but he fights both off, and Ridge is in!

Back from break and Pretty Deadly is in control. Kit Wilson is beating down Butch, but Butch begins fighting back only to be outnumbered and back on the receiving end of a beating. Michael Cole reveals that a source told him Pretty Deadly's outfit is known as a "super crop top."

Butch and Ridge Holland dominate early on as the commentary team praises Tyler Bate from NXT. Is it just to put over NXT, or is he being geared up for the main roster?

The ten beats to both members of Pretty Deadly as Corey Graves try cheering them on, and we go to break. Given that Elton got injured in a match with Ridge, there's a lot of intrigue here.

The Brawling Brutes are out next, sans Sheamus, who is still injured.

The commentary team points out how different the four British stars are. Corey Graves says Butch looks "sticky to touch." That's a new one.

Back from break to Pretty Deadly. Kit Wilson reveals Elton's "miraculous recovery" from his shoulder injury. Elton Prince stands from the wheel chair, and the two do their full entrance. They're hilarious.

WWE runs through some of what to expect tonight, including Triple H's appearance. Up next will be The Brawling Brutes vs. Pretty Deadly!

RAW preview before the commercial, promoting the show as a season premiere. Bronson Reed vs. Gunther, Rhea Ripley vs. Shayna Baszler, and Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes vs. The Judgment Day advertised.

The crowd is ready for Roman and Knight to come to blows, but Roman leaves instead! He tells Solo to handle him, and Sikoa challenges LA Knight to a match tonight. LA Knight accepts!

Roman belittles Knight, saying he gave him a few months, and 'they say his name now.' He asks Knight who he thinks he is standing in his ring. Knight removes his glasses and calls himself the fastest-rising star in SmackDown history. Out of nowhere, Jimmy Uso attacks Knight! Roman seemed confused, but LA Knight dumped him out of the ring!

LA Knight receives a massive pop from the crowd. The star power is through the roof. Loud "LA Knight" chants echo throughout the arena. LA asks if Roman peed his pants yet, and Roman laughs it off.

Knight says Roman isn't a defending champion, but he's a man standing in his way. He said while Roman has been sitting at home, things have changed. The crowd loudly chants for Knight. Electric atmosphere.

Cena says he hasn't earned the right to challenge Roman Reigns, but he does know somebody who has and LA Knight's music hits!

Cena points out the energy in the building. "Who knows what's next" with John Cena and Roman Reigns in the same ring. Cena throws a curveball and says he's not here to challenge Roman, but to acknowledge him.

More loud Cena chants, though there are also people who threw their fingers up for Roman.

Roman says the crowd chants for a coward, accusing Cena of only showing up because Reigns took his leave. He also calls himself the GOAT. He then tells Cena to leave or "we're going to make you leave."

Paul Heyman has dyed his hair again now that Roman Reigns is back. Hilarious.

Roman Reigns and John Cena in the ring show off WWE's star power. The crowd is loudly chanting for Cena. Heyman is gushing over his Tribal Chief. "John boy, Hollywood, if you're going to open my show, you better do it the right way. TULSA. ACKNOWLEDGE ME."

Roman's amazing theme plays as he walks out alongside Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman. Notably, Jimmy Uso is not with them.

The crowd absolutely erupted for John Cena, as you'd expect. While he's in the ring, the commentary team looks back at Fastlane, where he and LA Knight defeated Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

Cena has the mic now. He notes that tonight is a big night while the crowd loudly chants for him. Tulsa is electric. He's then interrupted by Roman Reigns' music!

SmackDown begins with the standard "Then. Now. Forever. Together." intro package before going live to the arena! Kevin Patrick welcomes us before John Cena's theme hits! Starting out with a bang!
