One of the most important aspects of Minecraft's continued success is its multiplayer. The ability to build up bases, take on hostile mobs, and go on adventures with friends gives the game way more replayability than it would have otherwise. The 1.21 update shows that Mojang is aware of how important multiplayer is, as there are many features that inspire group projects and activities.

10 of the best examples of fun things to do with friends on a newly updated 1.21 server are detailed down below. These ideas will hopefully give players many new hours of entertainment within Mojang's blocky masterpiece.

10 fun things to do on a private Minecraft 1.21 server with friends

1) Mace PvP

By far one of the most entertaining things to do with friends in Minecraft 1.21 is mace combat. Wind charges can be combined with maces to allow players to spring up into the air to get bonus damage quickly.

Combined with the wind burst and breach enchantments, mace PvP is unlike anything else in the game. It's quite a fun way to fight, as it involves constantly feinting and falling.

2) Grind ominous events

Unfortunately, getting enough Minecraft maces to actually have the PvP fights mentioned earlier isn't exactly easy.

Players will need to take on many different ominous events to get the heavy cores needed to craft the weapons. Since everyone will need a mace, it makes sense to take on the trial chambers as a group, so that they'll be much easier.

3) Make goofy wind charge redstone builds

Wind charges can also interact with different redstone components, such as minecarts, buttons, and levers. This means that a fun server activity to do with friends would be to see who can come up with the strangest functional wind charge-based redstone build.

For example, players could make a farm that uses wind charges to push the Minecraft hopper minecarts that collect the build's output, or they could make a piston door that opens using wind charges rather than pressure plates.

4) Wind burst bounce competitions

The wind burst Minecraft mace enchantment is by far the most interesting 1.21 enchantment. It allows players that land a smash attack with a mace to spring back up into the air, giving players the chance to land more attacks.

This means a fun server activity might be to see who can land the most consecutive smash attacks without hitting the ground.

5) Steampunk builds

The new Minecraft copper blocks and tuff variants added in 1.21 are amazing for steampunk builds. This means that players could work together to make a large shared survival base in the shape of a steampunk airship or factory or upgrade minecart stations to fit a more mechanical aesthetic.

One of the most entertaining parts of building is deciding what blocks, patterns, and shapes to use. Coming to these decisions with friends makes building more satisfying and memorable.

6) Hunt for the new music discs

Trial chambers contain many of the new and rare Minecraft items introduced in 1.21. This includes all three new music discs, for the songs "Precipice," "Creator," and "Creator (Music Box)." The first two of these tracks are particularly great, featuring a fun techno vibe that no other tracks have. These are all amazing tunes to have playing at base.

This means that looting vaults, omnious vaults, and decorated pots in trial chambers is one of the best things that friend groups looking to spice up their group base can do on 1.21 servers.

7) Find the new aesthetic items

If potential music discs aren't enough reason to get a group of friends together to take on trial chambers, maybe the plethora of new decorative items within them will be.

These new aesthetic items include Minecraft armor smithing templates, banner patterns, and pottery sherds. Many of these items depict flowing swirls of wind or breeze mobs, fitting for where they are found.

8) Take on a raid

One of the most interesting and controversial changes in 1.21 was the bad omen revamp. Bad omen is no longer automatically applied when a raid captain is killed. The effect is now applied when consuming an ominous bottle. There are different levels of ominous bottles, which can start raids at higher and more difficult levels.

This gives a large group of friends a way to spawn the most difficult raid possible, to see if their teamwork is able to overcome the odds and protect the village.

9) One shot the different bosses

Interestingly, there's no upper limit on the bonus damage that maces can get from falls. This means that every Minecraft mob with health, including bosses, can be one-shot using the weapon.

A fun server-wide project might be to attempt to one-shot each of the different boss mobs found throughout the game, as doing so is incredibly satisfying.

10) Build an art gallery

Group builds are a great way to pass time with friends on a server. One of the best group builds for 1.21 is an art gallery, due to the fact that the update added 20 new Minecraft paintings.

An ornate structure to show off all of the game's different paintings would make for a great server hub, so there would also be a purpose for the build.
