Minecraft players keep seeking better tools and armor as they progress through the game. While the sandbox already offers iconic armor sets like Diamond and Netherite, there’s always room for more. New armor sets could introduce unique abilities, encouraging players to explore new dimensions, biomes, and challenges.
With that in mind, we have come up with four unique armor sets that could offer unique perks and add more depth to crafting. Do note that the ones mentioned in this article, and more, are available through mods. So, let's dive in and find out how these armor sets could change the sandbox experience, shall we?

4 armor tiers that should be added to Minecraft
1) Bone armor
Bone armor would be a distinct addition to Minecraft. Unlike traditional armor sets, it wouldn't focus on protection, instead choosing to improve your mobility and attack potency. The helmet, chest plate, and leggings could be crafted with bones and leather, making them accessible early in the game.
These pieces would increase attack power and speed, allowing players to strike faster and move more efficiently during combat. The boots could be crafted with rabbit foot and leather, granting increased speed and jump height.
This would make them perfect for parkour enthusiasts or players exploring rugged terrain. The bone armor’s unique mechanics will provide an exciting alternative to the usual defense-oriented gear.
2) Prismarine armor
Prismarine armor should be designed with underwater adventurers in mind. This gear could be crafted from prismarine shards and turtle scutes, encouraging players to explore the game’s aquatic biomes. Instead of a helmet, players can pair this armor with a Turtle Shell, which already provides underwater breathing.
The armor’s primary perks would include increased swimming speed and faster mining underwater. These abilities can make it easier to gather resources like coral, sea lanterns, and sponges. Prismarine armor would incentivize players to dive into ocean monuments and other underwater areas.
Paired with enchantments, this set could help you survive underwater for a long time. If the Minecraft ocean is updated to have more depth, this set would become way more useful. More structures and mobs could be added to the ocean along with this armor set.
Enderite armor
The End dimension is one of Minecraft’s most mysterious and underdeveloped areas. Adding enderite armor could bring a welcome change to the game and this dimension. New mobs could also be added to coincide with this new ore in the final frontier.
Enderite could be a rare ore found exclusively in the End and would rival netherite as the strongest material in Minecraft. Upgrading to enderite armor should require a smithing template, adding an extra layer of challenge, similar to netherite.
This armor could grant unique abilities when enchanted like being able to teleport somewhere safe when falling from a great height. If the End receives an update with a more powerful boss, enderite armor would be essential for survival.
Slime armor
Slime armor would bring a playful yet practical twist to Minecraft’s gear options. Inspired by the mod Slimy Stuff, this armor will introduce bouncing mechanics. Falling from heights while wearing slime armor would negate fall damage and send players bouncing back up.
The slime helmet could add a sticky mechanic, temporarily reducing mobility but protecting players from knockback. If bouncing feels too overpowered, an alternative approach could focus on damage absorption. Slime armor could become the best choice for mitigating fall damage, making it ideal for spelunking. It’s a fun and functional set that sparks creativity in gameplay.
If not added as a serious armor it could be added through a joke update. Maybe an entire slime dimension similar to a poisonous potato can be added, though a serious vanilla version would be cool as well. It could even require a smithing template to craft, making it difficult to obtain if it becomes overpowered.
