When players first enter a new Minecraft world, they will spawn in an Overworld biome. Since each player follows a different playstyle, not everyone will start roaming around the world and explore most of what it has to offer. Some prefer to stick to the biome they spawn in and start building a base and living peacefully.
However, there are a lot of features and places players will be missing if they do not explore Minecraft. Here are a few reasons why they should roam around the game's vast world.

List of 4 reasons why players should explore Minecraft
1) To find rare structures and biomes
Minecraft is filled with various biomes and structures for players to explore, particularly because the game urges players to roam around the world to find better areas to either loot or live in. Hence, after spawning, players must not settle down too quickly and find different areas for a while. There is a high chance that they either find a more suitable biome or a friendly structure to live next to.
When players find rare biomes and structures, they will most definitely feel a sense of accomplishment, which will enrich their overall gaming experience. Additionally, if players want to complete Minecraft's underlying story, they will have to find certain biome and structures to progress.
Furthermore, some challenging, more dangerous structures can help players get valuable loot.
2) To find new resources and loot
One of the most important reasons to explore Minecraft is to obtain new kinds of resources and valuable items. When players spawn in the game, they do not have anything. They start off by chopping down wood and progress through the stone and iron ages. After a while, however, they will have to start exploring the caves to find more valuable ores.
Moreover, they will also massively benefit if they explore all three dimensions — Overworld, Nether, and End. Different biomes and structures will give players different loot to survive. Some resources, like saddles, enchanted golden apples, ender pearls, blaze rods, etc., are items that players can only obtain by looting rare structures and different kinds of mobs.
3) To explore new mobs
Apart from different world features like structures and biomes, another reason players should explore Minecraft is because of mobs — entities that spawn in every biome and structure in the game. Each has a distinct appearance, behavior, and item drops. Fighting and surviving amongst unique creatures is also a core gameplay feature of the game.
Some of these mobs, like Blaze, Enderman, Wither skeletons, etc., will help players progress through the game's story through their useful item drops. Even basic mobs like horses, villagers, and axolotls can help players in traveling, getting good loot, and fighting hostile mobs, respectively.
Hence, players must explore the world to find these new creatures to either fight them or befriend them for future endeavors.
4) To complete achievements
Whenever players perform any activity in Minecraft, they receive an advancement or achievement reward. This reward is usually in the form of a few XP points (and a few game score points in Bedrock Edition exclusively). However, different advancements require players to head to different dimensions, encounter different mobs, and loot various items throughout the world.
To get every, or at least most of the achievements, players are required to head out into the world and explore.
