Minecraft's armor trims haven't been around for long, but they've been a huge hit with fans who can't get enough customization. By combining an armor piece, specific coloration materials (ie. redstone dust, gold ingots, diamonds), and a smithing template for an armor trim pattern, players can create over 900 million different combinations, so there's no shortage of customization to be had.

While every Minecraft player is free to create any armor trim combination they choose, it doesn't hurt to get some inspiration from some pretty aesthetically pleasing armor trim choices.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the best trim combinations found so far by the community.

5 of the best armor trim combinations in Minecraft

1) Jedi Robes (Brown Leather Armor + Vex Armor Trim + Copper Ingots)

While it won't offer much in the way of protection, Star Wars fans might get a kick out of this Minecraft armor trim combo. By using brown dye on leather armor, they can tint their armor a shade darker than its initial color tone. Copper ingots can then be combined with the armor and the Vex armor smithing template to create a robe-like trim down the interior and sleeves.

This combo looks better without a helmet to emulate the Jedi-inspired appearance, but if players are using leather armor already, they likely aren't too worried about the armor's protective value.

2) Spider-Man (Red/Blue Leather Armor + Silence/Dune/Snout/Vex Armor Trim + Redstone Dust/Nether Quartz)

While it might not be a perfect recreation of Spider-Man's iconic suit in Minecraft, this armor trim combo gets pretty close. It begins with a red leather helmet and blue leather chestplate, leggings, and boots. From there, the Silence trim is applied to the chest with redstone dust, the Dune trim is applied to the legs with redstone dust, and the boots are given the Snout trim with redstone dust too.

That leaves the helmet, which will have the Vex pattern applied to it with nether quartz to create the iconic white insectoid eyes of Spider-Man's mask. This combo does unfortunately leave a brown stripe on the helmet, but otherwise, this superhero armor trim combo is pleasing to the eye.

3) Under the Depths (Netherite Armor + Silence Armor Trim + Diamonds + Enchantment)

If players are planning to head into the sea on their adventures, this armor trim combo might be just what they're looking for in Minecraft. It combines the Silence armor trim pattern with diamonds, applying them to a full set of enchanted netherite armor. Despite being pricy, this armor trim combo looks particularly appealing when enchantment glint strength and speed are set to maximum.

The diamond trim blends nicely with the netherite armor and the enchantment glint, creating the appearance of a sunken suit of magical armor that has been dredged from the depths to be used in battle once more.

4) Burning Magma (Orange Leather Armor + Silence Armor Trim + Netherite Ingots)

Once more, this armor trim combo won't afford much protection in Minecraft, but it looks spectacular. By dyeing a full set of leather armor orange and then applying the Silence trim pattern to the full suit with netherite ingots, players can create a suit of armor that looks a lot like magma breaking through rock and rising to the surface.

This armor set would fit in particularly nicely in the Nether where lava is found nearly everywhere. However, it could make for a pretty great-looking armor trim combo for everyday wear as well.

5) Ancient City Guard (Black Leather Armor + Eye/Rib/Wild Armor Trim + Diamond)

This armor trim combo will require a full suit of leather armor dyed black. The Eye trim is then applied to the helmet, the Rib pattern to the chest, and Wild patterns to the leggings and boots, all using diamonds as a trimming material. Although the brown stripes can feel a little out of place, this armor trim combo evokes the imagery of the deep dark biome and its ancient cities.

One could imagine a former protector of the ancient cities wearing this armor well before the Warden ever took up the job. The leering blue eyes on the helmet may be the most eerie part of the set.
