In Minecraft, each biome spawns multiple mobs with which players can interact. While some biomes generate common mobs, others have rare ones or rare variants of common mobs. Players frequently visit these biomes in hopes of finding rare creatures and interacting with them.
Here is a list of five biomes that spawn rare Minecraft mobs.
Note: This article lists only five biomes with rare mobs or mob variants, but there are others in the game as well.

List of 5 Minecraft biomes that spawn rare mobs
1) Mushroom Fields - Red and Brown Mooshrooms
Mushroom Fields is one of the rarest Overworld biomes in Minecraft. It is not connected to any other biome and is generated as a standalone region surrounded by oceans. Rare mobs like Red and Brown Mooshroom cows spawn in this biome.
The red and brown-colored cows have red and brown mushrooms growing on top of them. These mushrooms can be sheared as well. These rare creatures do not spawn anywhere else in the Minecraft world. Hence, players frequently try to find these rare biomes to make mooshrooms part of their rare mob collections.
2) Pale Garden - Creaking
Pale Garden is a brand new Overworld biome that was released with Minecraft 1.21.4 Garden Awakens Drop. This new region spawns a rare mob called the Creaking. The creature hunts for players when it is not on their screen. The Creaking cannot be harmed with direct attacks since its heart is a block outside its body, hidden in one of the pale oak trees.
After the Pale Garden was released, players quickly realized that the biome is quite rare to find in the game, especially in an old world with existing old chunks. This also made the Creaking mob rarer, as not all Pale Gardens will have a creaking heart that spawns the mob at night.
3) Plains - Pink Sheep
Though the plains biome has some of the most common mobs like cows, sheep, pigs, and so on, one of them has an extremely rare variant. This is a pink sheep that has a 0.164% chance of spawning.
While you can technically get a pink sheep in the game by simply dyeing any sheep pink, such sheep will not continue to grow pink wool once sheared. That is what makes a pink sheep special.
4) Lush Caves - Blue Axolotl
Lush Caves is another biome in which players can find rare variants of a mob. This is a cave biome that is filled with clay blocks, vegetation, and water. It can become a haven for players who are exploring the dark and dingy caves.
This biome spawns Axolotls, which are passive, friendly mobs that can help players fight off underwater hostile mobs. There are many variants of Axolotls based on their color. The blue variant of these creatures is considered extremely rare and has a tiny chance of spawning naturally in Lush Caves.
If they do not spawn naturally, the community has devised a method of getting the rare variant through mass breeding regular Axolotls and hoping to get the blue variant.
5) End Midlands and Highlands - Shulker
When players complete Minecraft's underlying story, they are allowed to explore other End islands, which are divided into two biomes — Midlands and Highlands in Java Edition. These two regions have a chance to spawn End Cities, large structures that generate some of the best loot in the game, including elytra.
In these structures, players will encounter shulkers, relatively rare hostile mobs. These creatures remain stationary and look like a block, but they are creatures living inside a shell that looks like a block. When the shell opens, shulkers attack players with levitation bullets, inflicting a levitation effect that can be dangerous when it runs out.
