5 of the best changes and fixes in Minecraft Preview 1.21.0.22

1) A New Sneaking Tip on Touch Devices

Game tips had a few changes in Minecraft Preview 1.21.0.22, including one that should help players be more aware of whether or not they're sneaking so they don't get stuck. A game tip has been added to the game on touch devices that informs players about whether they are currently sneaking, which should help new players remember their sneak mode status.

Since sneak mode lowers a player's overall movement speed, it can be the difference between life or death when dealing with hazards and hostile mobs. This new game tip should help players stay aware of their sneak mode and avoid ending up in a bad situation.

2) Ominous Vault Rare Loot Buff

Minecraft 1.21's ominous vaults have been a great way to get loot, but there was an issue between Java and Bedrock Edition. While ominous vaults' rare loot in Java Edition had an 80% chance to appear, it was only 20% in Bedrock by comparison.

Fortunately, Preview 1.21.0.22 fixed this issue, and rare ominous vault loot will now be dispensed 80% of the time just like in Java. Hopefully, this makes trial chambers and the ominous trial mechanic much more rewarding for Bedrock players going forward.

3) A Small Trapdoor and Fence Gate Tweak

For some reason, in Minecraft Bedrock, when a redstone signal activated trapdoors and fence gates, they would push players and mobs. This was a bit inconvenient, but Preview 1.21.0.22 fixed the issue, preventing fence gates or trapdoors activated by redstone signals from pushing any nearby entities.

It's a small tweak, to be sure, but one that removes a particular annoyance from Bedrock Edition all the same.

4) Realm Invite Link Expansion

Minecraft realm administrators have been able to invite other players to their realm via a text link for quite some time, but additional functionality has arrived for them in Preview 1.21.0.22. Up to five invite links can be sent out per realm; they can be enabled, disabled, and expired. The 11-character limit for the invites has been increased to 15.

Additionally, preview realms will keep their existing invite links but will now move forward with their default invite count reset to zero, allowing players to send even more invites to try out new preview features and changes.

5) No More Floating Bogged

Since the bogged mob was introduced in the Tricky Trials update, it had a strange bug in Minecraft Bedrock when placed in a minecart, boat, or raft that caused it to float in the air inexplicably. Fortunately, Preview 1.21.0.22 has addressed this issue and fixed it completely.

While the bug wasn't necessarily negatively impactful toward gameplay, a floating bogged is still a bit jarring and has been patched out.
