While this mod isn't a huge futuristic overhaul, Iron Jetpacks is a fun and lightweight mod that adds a little bit of extra technology to the game.

The jetpacks added by the mod are fully customizable and run off Forge Energy. While Elytra can take quite some time to acquire and can be expensive to maintain, these jetpacks are much simpler to craft and keep in solid shape.

2) Mining Gadgets

Mining Gadgets presents a futuristic alternative for Minecraft players who are bored with simply mining ores with a pickaxe. This mod adds mining lasers, drills, bores, quarries, and even mining robots to the game.

Automation included in this mod will not only make mining easier but will also increase the yields that players receive. Players can rack up ores and kick back with Mining Gadgets. This mod may keep players from ever returning to mining via pickaxe, like in the vanilla game.
