Decorating in Minecraft can be a tricky task, even when players have come up with many innovative ways to use vanilla blocks and items to create desired visual effects. However, using vanilla build hacks isn't the only way to create more pleasing aesthetics in a player's creations. Several mods are available for the 1.21 update that can facilitate this beyond what Mojang's original blocks/items can.

Whether they're customizing their new base or customizing their own appearance, there are plenty of Minecraft 1.21 decoration mods that have a lot to offer. With that in mind, here are some of the best Tricky Trials update mods that should be perfect for decorating.

Five of the best Minecraft 1.21 mods for decorating

1) Chipped

By using one of seven new Minecraft tables, Chipped is a mod that introduces 11,000+ new blocks and block variations that can be constructed with vanilla in-game blocks. This allows for variants like bricks made out of magma, patterned stained glass, new designs on existing stone blocks, and much more. All in all, this mod is a builder and decorator's delight when it comes to pure variety.

No matter what kind of build players are aiming for, Chipped is the mod that can help them realize their creations beyond what Mojang could accomplish with its vanilla blocks on its own.

2) Comforts

Exploring and building outdoorsy creations in Minecraft is fun, but having full-fledged beds in them can be a bit off-putting, which is where Comforts comes in as a mod. Comforts introduces sleeping bags and hammocks which perfectly complement camps and other outdoor builds. Much like beds, these hammocks and sleeping bags come in 16 different colors to suit players' tastes.

This mod doesn't add as many customization mods as some of those for version 1.21, but having sleeping bags and hammocks at their disposal should help players expand their outdoor builds substantially or simply enjoy a more nomadic lifestyle in the wilderness.

3) Elytra Trims

Armor trims in Minecraft were one of the better additions in recent memory, allowing players to apply different patterns and pattern colors to their armor for added customization. Elytra Trims expands on the customization capabilities of armor trims by making them applicable to elytra, allowing fans to create combinations of both armor trim patterns and elytra patterns.

Even better, this mod introduces the ability to dye elytra with or without patterns, and adding glow ink sacs can even allow the player's elytra to glow in the dark!

4) Beautify: Refabricated

An unofficial fork of the Beautify mod for the Fabric mod loader, Beautify: Refabricated is an excellent way to add a little extra personality to players' builds. This includes the addition of hanging flower pots, stacks of books, plant lattices, window blinds, and even candelabras for lighting. Beautify: Refabricated is an excellent addition for enriching each room in a player's home or base.

This mod even introduces climbable ropes to use, which could make both hanging decorations and creating jungle bases quite exciting.

5) SecurityCraft

If players are having a tough time with base security and want a few more decorations to boot, SecurityCraft is worth a look. It introduces new blocks including inventory scanners, keycard readers, security cameras, sentry turrets, and much more. This mod even introduces modular blocks, which can be further customized and fine-tuned to fit a player's specifications.

These blocks are nice for a modern decorative touch while also remaining incredibly functional to keep a player's valuables safe from threats.
