Minecraft capes are among the most popular cosmetics in Mojang's sandbox game. In 2024, the developer introduced five new capes for players to flaunt while exploring endless universes. Apart from making their users look really cool, these items offer no gameplay advantage.

1) Follower's Cape

This was the first Minecraft cape released in 2024. It was issued to players who redeemed a code they received after watching the game's livestream on TikTok between May 17, 2024, and June 18, 2024.

Follower's Cape was not available for players in countries like India, where TikTok is banned. The cosmetic was rolled out to all players on July 1, 2024.

2) Purple Heart Cape

The Purple Heart Cape was given to players who redeemed a code they received by watching a Minecraft Twitch stream with Drops enabled. Players could then head over to the official redemption page to validate and add the cosmetic to their accounts.

The Twitch Drop was released on May 15, 2024, and ended on May 31, 2024. All codes for the cape were permanently deactivated on June 30, 2024.

3) 15th Anniversary Cape

In honor of Minecraft's 15th anniversary, players were rewarded with the 15th Anniversary Cape. This cosmetic was also called the creepy cape on the game's official page.

The unique look of the creeper's face, along with the stunning green color, made it a popular choice for players to flaunt in-game.

4) MCC 15th Year Cape

The MCC 15th Year Cape was given to all players who completed the 15 challenges in the MC Championship Mini-games Event server. These challenges were hosted to commemorate 15 years of Minecraft and began on July 22, 2024.

Four of the challenges required players to complete each of the mini-games, while 10 tasked them with achieving certain statistics. The final challenge required the completion of the Mystery Cave event.

5) MC Experience Cape

The MC Experience Cape is perhaps the most popular cosmetic on this list. It was given as a reward to those who physically attended the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue. The cosmetic was rolled out to eligible players after October 23, 2024.

This cape had become a viral sensation due to its limited nature. Since Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue was a location-based event, many international players outside the United States could not get their hands on this cosmetic, making it even more rare. This prompted a huge reselling spike where some players were selling it for up to $570, 19 times the game's retail price.
