With the Minecraft 1.21 update out, many players have set off on a new adventure in an updated world, with trial chambers, the mace, and other new features in play. The usual Minecraft gameplay in the early or mid-game phase involves players chasing high-tier armor and weapons and enchanting them to make them even better.

Enchanting items is great until it comes to obtaining them through loot vaults in the Trial Chambers. The list of rare enchantments was not very long until the release of the 1.21 update, which introduced a handful of such enchantments exclusive to the new weapon, the mace. In this article, we list the five rarest enchantments in the Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials update found in the Trial Chambers.

Note: This article reflects the writer's opinions. Additionally, it lists enchantments that are rare in the Trial Chambers but not necessarily rare throughout Minecraft.

The addition of the Minecraft trial chambers, an underground area found only in the Overworld, has introduced a bunch of new features to the game, including new rare enchantments.

The enchantments listed below all share the same source: ominous vaults in the trial chambers. This is because the trial chambers have two main loot blocks, the vault and the ominous vault. The latter is harder to unlock and has a much lower probability of dropping an enchanted book.

For those unaware, an ominous vault is a block that appears when a player with the Bad Omen effect enters the vicinity of a regular vault. To unlock it, players need to beat all the mob waves summoned by the ominous spawners, after which they have a 30% chance of acquiring an ominous trial key.

This key can be used to unlock an ominous vault, which has a 5.5% chance of dropping an enchanted book. Bedrock players are a bit more unlucky, as the drop rate of this enchantment is significantly lower for them: 1.4%.

With that out of the way, the following are the rarest Minecraft enchantments in the trial chambers after the release of the Minecraft 1.21 Tricky Trials update:

1) Breach

Breach is one of the new 1.21 enchantments that is exclusive to the mace. When applied to a mace, the weapon gains the ability to reduce the effectiveness of the target's armor. The enchantment has four levels, and at the highest level, the target's armor undergoes a massive 60% reduction in overall effectiveness.

2) Density

Density is another addition that players encountered with the Tricky Trials update. Just like Breach, Density is exclusive to the mace. However, their similarities end when it comes to the way they work, as the Density enchantment increases the damage per block fallen before landing a blow.

The highest level of this enchantment increases the damage dealt by 2.5 hearts per block fallen, resulting in a significant increase in overall damage output. Although they function very differently, it can be argued that they achieve the same goal, i.e., to kill Minecraft mobs quickly.

3) Looting

On this list of rare enchantments, Looting stands out as one of the oldest enchantments in the game, loved by most players.

This enchantment is meant to be applied to swords and rewards the player with increased mob drops upon defeating them while using it. Common drops increase by one item per level of Looting, while rare drops and armor drops increase by one percentage point per Looting level.

4) Punch

Punch is one of the few bow-exclusive Minecraft enchantments. In practice, a bow with Punch has an extra knockback effect on the target. It works like the Knockback enchantment for melee weapons, and is a great enchantment to delay the advance of mobs from a distance.

As mobs are pushed back with each hit, it also grants the player additional time to kill them before the melee-attacking mobs reach the player.

5) Wind Burst

Wind Burst is a new Minecraft 1.21 enchantment that, like Breach and Density, is exclusive to the mace. It is practically the rarest enchantment in Minecraft, as it can only be found in the ominous vaults.

When applied to a mace, it adds a powerful windy knockback effect that sends the user flying upwards after landing a smash attack on an enemy. This allows the user to chain multiple smash attacks in quick succession.
