Minecraft has loads of hostile mobs in all three dimensions that pose a challenge to players. Even though Mojang continues to add new hostile mobs to the game, the modding community has also created thousands of them over the past 15 years. Some of these hostile mobs are massive bosses, while others are brought to the original sandbox game from Mojang's other titles.
Here are six great Minecraft mods that add many new hostile mobs.

List of 6 Minecraft mods for new hostile mobs
1) Cracker's Wither Storm
Cracker's Wither Storm mod adds arguably the most dangerous hostile mob that the community has ever witnessed. The creature is essentially a mutated version of the base Wither boss mob, which also needs to be summoned. It featured in Minecraft: Story Mode and was brought to the original sandbox through this mod.
It can be summoned by going to the X: 0, Z: 0 coordinates, where a custom house will be located. Players only need to place the last Wither skeleton head on the Wither configuration to spawn the ginormous monster. Once it spawns, it will start growing more and more, destroying everything in its patch, including the terrain itself.
2) Cave Dweller Reimagined
Cave Dweller Reimagined is a combination of two mods: Cave Dweller and Enhanced Cave Sound created by Gargin. The original mods were enhanced by Cadentem and Schpalrbo, and then finally combined to create the reimagined version.
Cave Dweller is a unique hostile mob that will silently stalk players in caves and gradually get closer to them. As it hunts players, the eerie cave noise will dramatically increase, instilling extreme fear. The Dweller has unique animations, sounds, and behavior. Even though it has a long and lanky stature, it can squeeze in one-by-one block holes and continue to hunt players.
3) BetterEnd
As Mojang continues to update the Overworld realm, Miencraft's player base is eagerly waiting for a major update for the End realm. While the developers have not yet announced anything regarding updating the third and last realm, players can experience new features added to it by the modding community.
If players want to encounter new kinds of hostile mobs in the End, they can try out BetterEnd, which is a mod that completely revamps the realm. It adds over 24 new biomes, six new mobs, and loads of new blocks and items.
4) Ice and Fire: Dragons
Ice and Fire: Dragons is one of the most popular mob mods in Minecraft. It has over 76,000,000 downloads on the CurseForge website alone. It was famously used in RLCraft and several other modpacks as well.
As the name suggests, this mod adds loads of dragons that roam around Minecraft. There are three types of dragons — Ice, Fire, and Lightning — each with their respective powers and habitats. Apart from dragons, the mod also adds sea monsters, human-like cults, Hippogriffs, Mermaids, and other dangerous mobs.
5) Dungeons Mobs
Mojang's second most popular game was their action-adventure game called Dungeons. To this day, many people enjoy the game and complete its compelling story. Since it was a brand new game, the developers created new variants of tried and tested mobs from their original sandbox title. However, these new variants were never added to the original game.
Hence, the modding community created the mod called Dungeons Mobs, which adds many mobs from Minecraft Dungeons like Royal Guard, Redstone Golem, Whisperer, and others.
6) Deeper and Darker
After Mojang released the Deep Dark biome and Ancient City structure, many in the community speculated that the developers could add a brand new dimension to the game inspired by the Deep Dark. The Ancient City's center had a Warden-shaped statue that looked like a portal, fueling the player base's speculations even more.
Though Mojang did not add any new dimension or mob related to Deep Dark, the modding community came up with unique mods for it. Deeper and Darker is the most well-known, which allows players to open a portal in the Ancient City, enter a brand new dimension with various new biomes, and encounter eight new mobs, including one miniboss.
