Minecraft will soon receive the Winter drop, a major update that will introduce the new Creaking mob and Pale Garden biome. It was introduced by Mojang in their annual live event in September 2024. Since then, the developers have constantly added new features like blocks, items, mechanics, and more to the snapshots and beta/preview versions.
Here are all the blocks and items that are confirmed for the upcoming Minecraft Winter drop.

Resin is a brand new material coming with Winter drop that is directly connected to the Creaking mob. When the beast is attacked, it will draw energy from its heart block, located deep within one of the Pale Garden's trees. Players will see particles traveling between the mob and the heart block.
This phenomenon causes drops of resin to develop on the adjacent logs of pale oak wood, surrounding the Creaking's heart. The more players attack the three-eyed monster, the more resin clumps will form around the Creaking heart. These resin clumps can be easily obtained by breaking them with a hand.
These clumps are not usable in their raw form and must be smelted in a furnace to make resin bricks. Resin bricks can either be used to craft various building blocks or be used to color armor trim designs on armor.

After players smelt resin clumps into resin bricks, it can then be used to craft brand-new resin brick blocks. These are a set of new building blocks that will have a unique texture and bright orange color. Resin bricks can be primarily used in structures and other contraptions.
Here is a list of all the resin brick blocks:
- Block of resin
- Resin brick
- Chiseled resin bricks
- Resin brik slab
- Resin brick stairs
- Resin brick wall
Pale oak wood blocks
New pale oak trees will grow in Pale Gardens, and their logs will be white on the inside and dark gray on the outside. A variety of wood blocks can then be made from these new logs. Many builders would rejoice since these are the first white wood blocks in the game. Players can chop pale oak trees to make slabs, planks, stairs, doors, trapdoors, fences, doors, and a lot more.
Here is a list of all the pale oak wood blocks:
- Pale oak log
- Stripped pale oak log
- Pale oak planks
- Pale oak stairs
- Pale oak slabs
- Pale oak sign
- Pale oak hanging sign
- Pale oak button

- Pale oak door

Other Pale Garden blocks
Apart from the pale oak wood set, Pale Garden also has various other blocks that enhance the biome's overall look and feel. Blocks like pale hanging moss, moss blocks, moss carpets, and eyeblossoms naturally generate in the new region. Most of these blocks can be obtained with a hoe or a shovel when using silk touch enchantment.
Eyeblossoms are new flowers that are only generated in the Pale Garden. They are closed during the day and bloom at night. Both versions can be obtained separately depending on the time they were plucked from the ground.
Here is a list of all the natural blocks generated in Pale Garden:
- Creaking heart
- Pale hanging moss
- Pale moss blocks
- Pale moss carpet
- Pale oak leaves
- Pale oak sapling
- Closed eyeblossom
- Open eyeblossom
