Minecraft has been around for several years now. Despite that, Mojang continues to release constant updates and bug fixes. Some of these bugs have been around for several years, and have also been exploited by players in various unique ways. For instance, a few of the movement bugs were used in parkour runs and bridging in several game modes.
Recently, however, the game developers have been squashing such bugs. Naturally, this has massively affected a certain sub-community of Minecrafters who frequently play parkour runs and other custom game modes, where they are essential to exploit.
Movement bugs turned techniques that were recently removed in Minecraft
The crouch sprinting technique

There was a bug in Minecraft Java Edition that allowed players to continue their sprinting even after performing a certain action that should essentially stop it. This means that players were able to sprint even though they were crouching, crawling, eating, drinking, etc.
Sprinting while crouching was something that was found by players and was quickly exploited in parkour runs. Many of them had sections where users had to go through one-and-a-half block spaces while crouching. Those who were experienced enough were able to skillfully continue their sprinting speed even after crouching. Though it was considered a bug by Mojang, it turned into a technique.
The bug was reported (MC-152728) on the Mojang bug website in 2019 and was recently patched in the 24w44a snapshot, which was the first snapshot of 1.21.4 The Garden Awakens drop.
After it was fixed, there was no way to continue the sprint after players crouched.
The diagonal movement speed technique
Most recently, another movement technique was nerfed in Minecraft snapshot 25w02a, the first snapshot of an upcoming game drop, the first of the year 2025. This snapshot removed the extra speed players used to get while crouching and walking diagonally.
The diagonal crouching speed takes place when players continue their sprint, hit the crouch button, and then quickly start moving diagonally, pressing any two directional keys. Since this was faster than crouching and moving in a straight line, players exploited this bug to bridge a lot quicker in Minecraft. They were able to reach the edge of each block quickly to place another block.
The bug report (MC-271065) regarding this was posted in April 2024 and, as just mentioned, was fixed in the 25w02a snapshot.
