Five of the best changes and fixes in the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.20 update
1) Legacy Console Edition World Corruption Fix
While it isn't exactly common, many players take the effort to convert their existing worlds from the Legacy Console Editions of the game (Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition, Xbox 360 Edition, etc.) onto Bedrock Edition. However, this can often cause a massive amount of world corruption due to the differences between the Legacy Console Editions and the current state of Bedrock Edition.
With Bedrock Edition 1.21.20, Mojang has taken major strides to allow players to convert old Legacy Console worlds onto Bedrock platforms without experiencing major block and item corruption. Some corruption may exist in these game worlds, but it shouldn't be as bad as it was before this update.
2) Another Witch Farm Buff
Witch farms in Minecraft are a great way to collect brewing materials. The 1.21 update improved these farms by increasing the redstone dust drops when witches are killed. However, the Bedrock update 1.21.20 has gone one step further by guaranteeing that witches will drop 4-8 redstone dust upon death, making witch farms an even better source of farming redstone without ever stepping into a mine.
For fans who love creating redstone contraptions and machines, even one witch farm can be enough to keep their supplies of redstone dust stocked for the foreseeable future.
3) Double Door Improvement
For quite some time, if Minecraft Bedrock players wanted to create a set of double doors for their builds, they had to do so by combining doors that were made of the same material. As of Bedrock Edition 1.21.20, this is no longer the case, and players can combine any two door types to create a set of double doors without the pre-existing restrictions.
While this change may not necessarily be a big deal for some players, it can alleviate some of the stress that Bedrock Edition builders have had while creating unique builds.
4) A Bogged Bug Fix
A particularly strange bug emerged with the arrival of the bogged mob in Minecraft 1.21. While this bug seemingly only existed within recent previews, it was a problem that Mojang certainly wanted to fix before the 1.21.20 update was rolled out. Specifically, this bug resulted in bogged that were underwater, inflicting the Slowness status effect when melee attacking the player.
Since the bogged were never intended to inflict this status effect, it's a huge net positive that this bug was fixed, as being afflicted with Slowness underwater can be incredibly dangerous. Even if the bug only existed within Bedrock previews according to player reports, it would have been a major issue if it had gone unnoticed.
5) Wolf/Bear/Panda Behavior Update
While wolf, panda, and bear mobs would react accordingly to different mobs in the environment, they had a significant drawback in the Bedrock Edition. Specifically, if these mobs encountered environmental hazards and took damage from the likes of lava, fire, and so on, they wouldn't react and would even die from mindlessly standing near the hazards. This is something Bedrock 1.21.20 has addressed.
When wolves, bears, and pandas are now damaged by environmental sources, they will enter a panic state and do what they can to avoid the danger. For players who are interested in keeping these specific mobs alive, this change is a substantial one.
