Minecraft preview 1.21.30.23 for Bedrock Edition arrived on August 15, 2024, bringing a sizable list of bug fixes, gameplay changes, and even the long-awaited bundles to the game. With plenty of content and changes to pore over, this update has plenty to offer. But what are its best changes, features, or fixes?
The answer may depend on each player and what they've been hoping to see as Minecraft Bedrock continues to evolve, but it doesn't hurt to examine some of the most hailed highlights of preview 1.21.30.23.
5 of the best changes, features, and fixes in Minecraft preview 1.21.30.23 for Bedrock Edition
1) Bundles meet Bedrock Edition

Minecraft bundles are portable containers capable of carrying extra items and blocks (up to a max of 64 items/blocks in all of its slots). They were originally planned to be released with the Caves & Cliffs update years ago. However, this never came to pass.
Bundles have since been relegated to being an Experimental Feature on Java Edition. However, this has changed with preview 1.21.30.23.
Bundles can now be accessed as an Experimental Feature in both Java Edition and in Bedrock preview 1.21.30.23 and above. It appears that Mojang may finally be collecting data on these items ahead of fully implementing them in the base game, so players should grab some string and rabbit hides to craft a few bundles and enjoy the increased storage capacity.
2) Breeze aggro distance fix

The breeze mob arrived in in Minecraft 1.21, but Bedrock players noticed something of an issue with the mob in post-1.21 patches. Specifically, the breeze seemed to have a defined range that would dictate when it would and wouldn't attack targets. However, this appeared to be a bug, and Mojang has fixed the problem in the 1.21.30.23 preview.
For some reason, when players drew too close to the breeze in recent Bedrock versions, it would effectively become passive and no longer fight back. Now, this trial chamber mob should attack and defend itself as expected.
3) A new screenshot key combination

Recent Minecraft previews introduced a dedicated screenshot button that could be activated via the pause menu. However, it seems as though Mojang isn't finished quite yet. Preview 1.21.30.23 has introduced a set of shortcuts that allow players to use the screenshot function without opening the pause menu. This is quite useful considering the pause menu obscures the screen.
Now, players can press the F2 key on their keyboard or the controller shortcuts L1 + R1 (PlayStation), LB + RB (Xbox), or L + R (Switch) to immediately capture an image with the new screenshot function. Compared to opening up the pause menu and hoping that the scene players are hoping to capture doesn't change before the screenshot button is pressed.
4) A return to ominous basalt delta sounds

Quite some time ago, Minecraft basalt delta biomes in the Nether had ominous sounds that set the mood for them as a whole. These were removed, but it appears that Mojang has seen it fit to reintroduce them in preview 1.21.30.23. While no other marked changes appear for this Nether biome in this preview, the added ambiance is a welcome return to form.
The atmosphere is a huge part of the game's appeal in general, especially in otherworldly dimensions like the Nether and the End. Bringing back the moody sound effects in basalt deltas helps cement this strange feeling when traversing these two dimensions beyond the Overworld.
5) Parrots get a little more useful

Minecraft fans may be aware of the parrot mob's ability to mimic the sounds of hostile mobs, providing an early warning for players that enemies are near. Thanks to a bug fix and an added feature in preview 1.21.30.23, parrots are a little more helpful in that regard. Parrots will now once again mimic the sound of drowned while also being able to imitate endermites as well.
While endermites are far from threatening to players in general, the added information is still helpful now that parrots can emulate the sound of drowned, making journeys through watery areas a bit safer.
