There are a plethora of Minecraft items that are incredibly useful when fighting dangerous, hostile mobs. However, the game's most dangerous mob, the Warden, requires extra preparation to have even a slim chance of making it through the fight alive. This means bringing the best combat items available and is required for any brave players looking to take down the beast.

Seven of the best items available in the game for dangerous fights, along with what makes them such useful items, are detailed down below.

7 of the best items to bring to a fight against Minecraft's Warden

1) Totems of undying

Minecraft's totems of undying are items that can be held in either hand. When a player dies, the totem is consumed instead, leaving them with half a heart, some regeneration, and a few hearts of damage absorption.

It might seem like a mistake to use totems rather than shields, but Minecraft's Warden can disable shields with every melee attack it makes, meaning totems are most likely a better use of the offhand. Especially since the Warden is more than capable of one-shotting even well-armored players on harder difficulty. Always having a totem should avoid a single mistake resulting in death.

2) Golden Apples

Golden apples are useful for many of the same reasons as totems of undying. When consumed, a regular golden apple will apply absorption I for two minutes, along with regeneration II for five seconds. This equates to two hearts of temporary health and then two of regeneration. Regular golden apples can also be crafted, allowing them to be used in large numbers.

Enchanted golden apples are even better to use, but they must be found in rare Minecraft structures like woodland mansions and desert temples. These apples grant Absorption IV, Fire Resistance I for five minutes, and Resistance I for five minutes. This equates to eight hearts of temp HP and a 20% reduction in damage for five minutes.

The regeneration works differently depending on the platform. Java players will gain back eight hearts over 20 seconds, while Bedrock players will receive a whopping 50 hearts over 30 seconds.

3) Potions of instant health

Health potions are the best Minecraft potions to bring to a fight against the Warden. Regular healing potions will instantly restore two hearts to players, with upgraded health potions doubling the healing to four. Given the Warden's ability to deal huge amounts of damage, even through Minecraft god armor, these potions are great panic buttons, able to instantly put players back to nearly full hearts.

4) Potions of regeneration

Regeneration potions are a great backup item to have in addition to instant healing potions. They give players a great way to get large amounts of HP back in between confrontations with the Warden. Regeneration potions, when extended, will restore a total of 18 hearts on Java and 24 hearts on Bedrock.

This is one of the best options for healing the huge damage that the Warden can deal.

5) Poison arrows

Poison-tipped arrows make for a great weapon against the Warden. They inflict extra damage over time, in addition to the damage dealt by the arrow itself. This is what makes them so useful here, as they can quickly chip down the Warden's immense health pool. They can also be easily farmed by killing the new bogged Minecraft skeleton variant found in Tricky Trials.

Regular poisoned arrows will inflict two hearts of poison damage over five seconds, but extended potions are the better option. These arrows will inflict four hearts of damage over 11 seconds on Java, or six hearts of damage over 15 seconds on Bedrock. This also gives players time to run and prepare for the next shot before the poison effect ends.

6) Slowness arrows

Slowness arrows are a great item to bring into a Warden fight. They allow players to effectively stay outside of this foe's range of devastating melee strikes by slowing it down. Splash and lingering Minecraft potions of slowness would work as well, but a tipped arrow has the added benefit of dealing damage at the same time.

7) Potions of strength

Strength potions can make the player much deadlier to Minecraft's hostile mobs. Base strength potions increase melee damage by 1.5 hearts in Java Edition, whereas Bedrock potions increase damage by 30% plus 0.5 hearts. Upgraded strength potions increase Java melee damage by 4.5 hearts, whereas Bedrock potions give a 69% plWs 0.65 heart increase.

Potions of strength will mean players spend less time fighting the Warden, which directly equates to less time spent in the danger zone. This is what makes them so amazing to bring to warden fights.
