Top 5 best looking Minecraft villages

Villages are probably the most useful and powerful structure that Minecraft players have access to in survival. Near the start of the game, villages can provide huge amounts of food, as well as iron ingots and gear. Lucky players might even find chests with obsidian or diamonds in them. Villager trading also gives access to almost every enchantment, as well as other rare items.

Needless to say, players will spend quite a bit of time within the streets of these structures. This means the village needs to look nice, or interesting, to help stave off boredom. Everything about how the five different types of villages rank in terms of appearance can be found below.

Minecraft village types ranked by aesthetics

5) Desert villages

Desert villages might be the least aesthetic village type in the game, but they're still a long way from ugly. They are made up mostly of sandstone blocks, which makes sense given their location. However, this also makes them exceptionally bland and flat-looking.

By far, the most interesting part of desert villages is the occasional terracotta accents found in them. If there were more of these terracotta accents, and in a smattering of colors, then desert villages wouldn't be so boring to look at.

4) Plains villages

Unfortunately, the classic village is also one of the game's least aesthetic. That's not to say that plains villages are ugly, though. The oak and cobblestone buildings in these villages are very reminiscent of classic Minecraft building techniques. That being said, there's not much about these villages that makes them unique, which is why they're generally not as good-looking as other village types.

3) Snowy villages

Snowy villages actually look quite similar to plains villages at first glance. However, there are a few key differences that make them slightly prettier. Oak wood has been replaced by spruce, representing the types of Minecraft trees these villages would have access to. Additionally, there's almost no cobblestone in these buildings. They are replaced by stripped spruce logs.

These villages also feature adorable little igloos in place of some smaller villager residences. This, combined with the layer of snow covering everything, really sells the winter wonderland look and ties the village together in quite a satisfying way.

2) Taiga villages

Taiga villages are the second most appealing village for one major reason: they take all the best parts of snowy villages and plains villages and combine them. These Minecraft structures feature classic-style buildings consisting of cobblestone and wood. However, oak has been replaced by the much prettier-looking spruce wood type.

There can also be a cute layer of snow covering the village if generated within a snowy taiga biome. The pumpkins that can generate exclusively within these village types also really help make the structure better looking, as the orange contrasts incredibly well with the cooler colors surrounding them.

1) Savanna villages

Savanna villages are by far the prettiest villages in Minecraft. The soft orange tones of savanna wood complement the warmer feel of the biome incredibly well, making them feel welcoming. Some houses also generate on stilts, which is something that no other villages do.

Savanna villages are also the only village type capable of spawning with Minecraft melon farms, which can be used to immediately start trading, which, as previously mentioned, is one of the things that makes these structures so strong.
