In Minecraft, players can travel far and wide on the near-endless map to explore different biomes, structures, and terrains. Though walking and running are the simplest ways to travel in the game, they can feel slow and tiresome. Additionally, players can lose hunger bars and eventually health. Fortunately, there are some ridable mobs that they can use to travel across the map quickly and efficiently.
There are only a handful of mobs that are ridable in Minecraft. To ride one, players need to have rare saddles that can only be found as chest loot. Once a ridable mob wears a saddle, players can right-click on it to ride anywhere.
Listed below are some of the best ridable mobs in Minecraft.

Camels and other great Minecraft mobs to ride in 2023
1) Horse
Horses are arguably the most famous ridable mobs in Minecraft. They are quite common and can be found in most biomes. Players first need to tame them by feeding them wheat and constantly trying to sit on them. Once they are tamed, a saddle can be attached to them to control their movements.
Horses are quick and can also jump several blocks high. One of the best features is that players do not have to hit jump for each block since these mobs climb them automatically.
2) Camels
Camels are brand-new creatures that will soon be released in the 1.20 update. They are uncommon mobs that will be found only in desert villages. Once found, they can be tamed using cacti as fodder.
One of the special features of camels is that two players can ride them simultaneously. Moreover, players only need to fit one saddle on camels for two players to ride on them. Hence, they are one of the best mobs to ride in the game this year.
3) Donkey
Donkeys are horse alternatives. However, the mobs are not quick and cannot jump as high as horses. However, they are by no means inferior.
Donkeys are common in the world and can be tamed by feeding them wheat. They can wear saddles and carry one player at a time. However, their unique feature is that they can carry a chest on their back as well, which can store extra items and blocks.
4) Skeleton Horse
The skeleton horse is arguably the rarest mob on this list. It only spawns during thunderstorms. When players approach it, a skeleton trap will be activated. Four skeleton horsemen will then spawn and attack them.
After defeating all the skeletons, players can take the skeleton horse and ride it. This mob will always have half a heart less than full health, but it can be as quick as a normal horse and can even be ridden on the water bed like normal land.
5) Strider
The Nether Realm is a dangerous place to traverse because the terrain is irregular. It also has lava, and there are all kinds of hostile mobs everywhere. However, there is one passive mob that roams on top of the lava lakes called striders. These sad-looking creatures can be ridden using saddles and a warped fungus on a stick.
Though it is quite tricky to reach the top of the lava, it is one of the methods to travel in the hellish realm.
