Minecraft has plenty of weapons to choose from, including explosive blocks like TNT. However, sometimes players need a bigger bang for their buck compared to ordinary TNT. The good news is that the modding community always has an answer to this need, including by introducing nuclear arsenals to Mojang's beloved sandbox title in various forms.
Even though there are countless Minecraft mods for nukes, each one offers a different approach to these immensely powerful weapons. With that in mind, it doesn't hurt to take a look at some of the best mods for the game that provide ample access to nuclear arms and energy.
Five of the best nuke mods for Minecraft
1) Nukacraft

Fallout is one of the most widely appreciated post-apocalypse RPG series of all time, and the Nukacraft brings its nuclear war-battered world to Minecraft. In Nukacraft, a new Minecraft dimension known simply as the Wasteland is introduced, complete with unique apocalyptic biomes and countless iconic weapons, armor, tools, foods, and creatures from games including Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas, and 76.
Players can create their settlements, slap on some power armor, battle Deathclaws and wasteland raiders, and eventually find themselves the Fat Man mini-nuke launcher to deal devastating nuclear destruction on their foes.
2) Nuclear Bombs
Nukes might be great for destroying a massive score of entities in Minecraft, but they can be quite helpful for clearing land as well. This is where the Nuclear Bombs mod comes in, introducing several different types of nuclear bomb blocks with varying yields of explosive power, perfect for controlled nuclear demolitions of specific targets.
There are even nuclear bombs in this mod that target certain terrain and biomes, allowing players to terraform their world without using a mod like WorldEdit.
3) The Nuke Mod
If getting a nuke isn't enough for Minecraft players, The Nuke Mod might be worth a look. Contrary to the mod's name, it introduces several different explosives including nukes, C4 blocks, landmines, time bombs, thermobaric bombs, and more. Many of these new explosives are fueled by uranium ore, which can be found in a similar sense to ordinary raw gold ore.
However, unlike a few nuke mods for Minecraft, The Nuke Mod's nuclear arsenal will inflict radioactive fallout, so players will have to be careful to protect themselves from the nuclear particles.
4) Create: Nuke
Technically a module in the ever-expansive Create Mod, Create: Nuke allows players to use the Create Mod to produce machines capable of crafting nuclear cores that can ultimately be used for nuclear detonations. They are fueled by new materials including uranium and plutonium, but they also produce radioactive slag as a result, so players will have to be aware of the byproducts of their nuclear pursuits.
The yield of this mod's nuclear detonations may not be as massive as some other mods, but that might be preferable for some those who have a hard time rendering huge explosions on their device due to the inherent CPU/GPU usage.
5) Hbm's Nuclear Tech Mod
This mod doesn't only include nukes, but they are a major feature nonetheless. Hbm's Nuclear Tech Mod introduces a huge tech tree that players can progress through to create various weapons including missiles, artillery, turrets, traps, and of course nuclear warheads. This mod even introduces new structures to explore, as well as hazards like lung disease, nuclear radiation, and explosive gases.
Progressing through the tech tree to unlock nuclear arms takes some time, but players certainly won't complain about the results of harnessing their power.
