There is no shortage of large-scale Minecraft builds to work on in survival worlds, such as megabases, automated farms, and multi-chunk map art. However, these large structures can often have awkward empty gaps between them, which can detract from what would otherwise be amazing builds. One of the best ways to fill these gaps is by creating small, decorative statues.

10 amazing styles of statues can be found detailed down below, along with what makes them so great and the kinds of builds they work best within.

10 amazing Minecraft statue ideas

1) Dragon statues

While Minecraft's final boss, the ender dragon, might be the easiest source of inspiration for dragon statues, there is truly no shortage of draconic designs in fantasy. Fictional dragons also tend to come in a myriad of colors, meaning players will have a chance to use many bright and colorful blocks that they otherwise wouldn't.

Many of these different hues also have various elements and aesthetics associated with them, giving players the freedom to truly run wild with designs. The different chromatic and metallic dragons of Dungeons & Dragons are an amazing source of inspiration here, for example.

2) Mob statues

Mob statues are some of the most iconic and recognizable in the entire game. At their simplest to build, they are straight one-to-one reconstructions of mobs made using wool, concrete, and other colorful blocks. These statues are particularly useful for new builders, as they look very impressive in the world and are also quite easy to build.

3) Beacon statues

Beacon statues are a style of statue that blends aesthetics and purpose. These builds hide the base of a Minecraft beacon within some kind of statue. They tend to be taller, more vertical structures. This is to accentuate the beacon beam that juts out of the top of the statue.

Having multiple buffs and a waypoint in the beacon beam makes these incredible statues easy to build as soon as possible.

4) Gargoyles and grotesques

Gargoyles in the real world are ornate carvings that act as waterspouts. On the other hand, carvings that are purely decorative are known as grotesques. They tend to be intimidating winged humanoids perched on ledges, seemingly ready to take flight at any moment.

These statues work incredibly well within Gothic Minecraft mansions, but they would also suit medieval and fantasy builds.

5) Knight statues

Knight statues are similar to gargoyles in that there are quite a number of real-world references to look up and use. This makes them one of the easiest statue types to build, even if they're relatively complex. They are great statues to use within medieval builds, particularly Minecraft castles and other large stoneworks.

6) Angel statues

Angel statues are an incredibly common kind of statue to see in the real world. That makes them good choices of statue to build, as there are a ton of reference images to look up and use. These statues would fit perfectly within medieval cathedral builds, gothic Minecraft manors, and even fantasy builds, giving them quite a range of utility when building.

7) Stone villagers

Villagers are by far one of the most important Minecraft mobs. They also have an incredibly iconic design that works very well when translated into stone statues. These statues would work particularly well within villager trading halls, as demonstrated by Mumbo Jumbo back in Hermitcraft season 7.

Mumbo Jumbo's statues were worn down and ruined, but they could also be made to look new.

8) Fountain statue

Fountains are an incredible way to mark the center of a base. While a simple circle filled with water would work, it's by no means impressive. Creating a large and ornate fountain instead can turn this normally mundane water feature into a statue of its own, worthy of being appreciated alongside the rest of the statues mentioned so far. Fish are another great way to sprinkle some excitement into a fountain statue.

9) Simple stone statues

While many of the statues described thus far are quite complex, both in terms of design and material used, it is by no means impossible to make aesthetically appealing stone statues. These statues often use smooth stone, stone bricks, and the mossy and cracked variants of these blocks. The smaller scale of these statues also makes them easier to build.

10) Pixel art

Pixel art statues are similar to mob statues in that they convert individual pixels into blocks. However, rather than taking in-game mobs as sources of inspiration, pixel art can instead translate any 2D image into the game. It's this versatility and ease of building that make pixel art such an incredible statue type to consider building.
