The Eyeblossom cape is a brand-new cosmetic item you can obtain in Minecraft. Capes used to be one of the most exclusive skin customizations in the game. Now, however, they are much more common and varied. With the release of The Garden Awakens Drop, Mojang is hosting an event on Bedrock Edition called 'Eerie Mojang Office Party', through which you can get the new cape.
Since the event is being held on Bedrock Edition, you might wonder whether you will be able to get it on Java Edition as well. The answer to that is yes. Let's explore how.

As mentioned above, Mojang is currently hosting a new office party event that started on December 9, 2024, and will end on December 20, 2024. During this period, they will conduct daily challenges that you can take part in. Once these daily challenges are completed, you and all other players will be rewarded with character creator items like t-shirts, hats, and so on.
If you manage to finish five daily challenges, you will receive the Eyeblossom cape in the game. The Eyeblossom cape will have a dark purple hue in the background, with multiple open Eyeblossom flowers scattered around it.
You will receive the new cape in Bedrock Edition, and it can be easily equipped from the game's dressing room area. However, getting the cape is possible in the Java Edition as well.
A Minecraft fan named Marc Watson recently posted on Bluesky, revealing that you will simply need to relaunch the Minecraft official launcher in order to get the cape for the Java Edition. Since you can apply capes for Java Edition from the launcher, it needs to be refreshed to register that you have received the new cosmetic item.
Another trusty Minecraft leaker named Rainvay ZCYF reposted the method on their official X account and confirmed that the Eyeblossom cape will be available for both Bedrock and Java Editions.
How to find and apply capes for Java Edition
Once you have a cape redeemed, you will need to apply it to the skin you are using on Java Edition. To do this, you can follow these steps:
- Open Minecraft launcher.
- Select Java Edition from the left panel.
- Select 'Skins' from the top panel.
- Select any skin and click on the edit button from its options.
- The skin editor screen will show any available cape.
- Select the cape and hit 'Save and Use' in the bottom right corner.
After applying the changes, you can head to the game and check out the cape by entering a world and pressing F5 to change the camera.
