Minecraft's many different mob and resource farms are incredibly important for survival. They allow players to automate the gathering of a plethora of resources, freeing up time to do other things like go on adventures. Though many of these farm designs are incredibly complex to construct, there are several easy-to-build, yet still very powerful, farms out there.
Seven of the easiest farms to construct in the game can be found detailed down below. Building these farms will help players take their survival worlds to the next level in 2024.

7 of the best simple Minecraft farms for 2024
1) Melon and pumpkin farms
Melons and pumpkins are the best of all the game's different crops when it comes to easy automated farming. These farms are similar to sugar cane farms in that both use observers to see the crops grow and pistons to harvest them. However, melon and pumpkin farms can be traded with farmer villagers for emeralds.
These emeralds can then be traded with other villagers for tipped arrows, redstone, lapis, ender pearls, enchanted books, and even diamond gear.
Outside of trading, both melons and pumpkins can be used for food. This combination of simplicity and utility is what makes these farms so great.
2) Spawner farms
Monster room Minecraft structures are as iconic as they are ancient. These boxes are made of mossy and regular cobblestone and have a mob spawner in the center. These spawners will produce consistent numbers of zombies, skeletons, or spiders, depending on the spawner.
These mobs can be easily funneled into a kill zone, where players can wipe them out for XP and item drops, such as arrows, bones, and even enchanted armor.
3) Kelp smelters
Kelp smelters are the most complex of the farms listed here, but they're still quite simple. These farms allow players to automatically harvest kelp and feed it into a super smelter, which will then dry out the harvested kelp.
This has three major uses: dried kelp can be used as a food source; as an infinite Minecraft fuel source; and the XP from smelted items will build up until the player collects it, allowing them to function as survival experience banks.
4) Generic mob farms
The classic Minecraft mob farm is one of the oldest designs out there, dating back over a decade. This iconic design has remained in use in large part due to how cheap it is in terms of resources, requiring little more than building blocks, water, and trapdoors. However, it provides access to many useful items, such as bones, arrows, gunpowder, and experience.
5) Sugar cane farms
Sugar cane farms are some of the easiest farms in the entire game. This is mostly because their design has gone essentially unchanged since the addition of Minecraft observers as an item. Observers detect when the sugar cane grows to three blocks tall and causes a piston to break all but the root of the plant. This provides players unlimited access to paper.
As a consequence, they will be able to easily make all the books needed to set up a Minecraft enchanting area in the early game and craft limitless firework rockets later on.
6) AFK fish farms
AKF fish farms allow players to automatically cast a fishing rod and catch fish. These farms are quite basic, with their most advanced components being a single Minecraft hopper, noteblock, and iron trapdoor.
However, these cheap resources give access to infinite food and XP. More advanced farms can even catch fishing treasures such as enchanted books, gear, and name tags.
7) Lava farms
Lava farms are one of the best examples of a simple Minecraft farm that provides huge benefits. These farms only require players to put a lava source block over a piece of pointed dripstone, which is placed to drip into a cauldron. This will cause the cauldron to fill with lava once every 19 minutes on average, thereby making lava a renewable resource and allowing for infinite fuel and obsidian.
