The Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update will soon be released and will bring loads of new features to the age-old sandbox title. Mojang took a different approach in developing this update, as they did not reveal all the new additions in their annual event. Rather, they gradually revealed each feature when it was 100% complete and confirmed for the update.
Hence, players steadily got to know what was coming with the update. Apart from a long list of smaller additions and tweaks, there are a few features that users must experience whenever it drops.

Top 7 unmissable features coming to Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update
1) Sniffer
Sniffers were part of the 2022 mob vote competition right before Mojang's annual event. The mob received over half the votes from the player base and was confirmed for the 1.20 update. It is the first ancient mob that can only be found as a sniffer egg inside suspicious sand blocks in warm ocean ruins. Once spawned, these large mobs will roam around, sniff the ground, and dig out the seeds of unique plants.
2) Cherry Grove
Cherry Grove is a brand new biome coming to the 1.20 update. It will mostly generate on top of mountains and grow brand new cherry trees and pink petals on the ground. New trees also mean that Mojang will add a new cherry wood set that is light pink in color.
3) Camel
Apart from Sniffers, Mojang is also adding a new camel mob to the game. These, too, are passive mobs that will only be found in desert villages. Similar to any other tameable mob, players can make them pets by feeding them cactus blocks. Once they are tamed, saddles can be fitted to them, allowing not one but two players to ride them simultaneously.
4) Archeology
The archeology feature was announced in 2020 when Mojang was working on the 1.17 update. Due to several issues, it kept getting delayed until 2023. This feature adds blocks and items like pottery sherds, decorated pots, and suspicious sand and gravel. It even brings a brand new structure called Trail Ruins for players to explore.
Suspicious sand and gravel can be found in various structures and can be brushed to either find pottery sherds or other random items.
5) Armor trims
Armor trims are another new item allowing players to add various designs to armor parts. These items are found in all kinds of existing structures in the game. Once obtained, they can be used on a smithing table with a crystal or mineral item and an armor part.
6) Bamboo blocks
One of the first features introduced by Mojang was a brand-new wood set made from bamboo. In the 1.20 update, Bamboo planks can be made and further crafted into all kinds of wood-related blocks like doors, trapdoors, fences, stairs, slabs, etc. This is a brilliant new addition to the wood family in the game, as it adds variety for users to try.
7) Calibrated Sculk Sensor
Those into redstone contraptions must try out the new Calibrated Sculk Sensor block. Regular sculk sensors detect every single vibration and activate themselves. However, this new block can have a specific detection level set through a lectern and a book. These are made from regular sculk sensor blocks and three amethyst shards.
