Minecraft 1.21, also known as Tricky Trials, added quite a few new and exciting features to the game. This includes trial chambers, bogged and breeze mobs, two new block ranges, and the new mace weapon type. With so many major features to check out, the minor changes can fall into obscurity, totally missed by the majority of players.
Detailed below are seven such features that players might have missed due to not being as large, imposing, and easy to find as many other 1.21 features.
7 easy-to-miss Minecraft 1.21 features
1) New paintings

Paintings were first added to the game back in 2010, making them one of the oldest items in the game. However, a single glance at the builds posted across the internet will demonstrate that paintings are rarely used by players.
This means that it's quite easy for players to miss the 20 new paintings introduced in Minecraft 1.21, which is a shame since all these paintings are incredible. They feel modern yet have the strange otherworldly feeling that the game's older paintings are famous for.
2) New music discs

Music discs are similar to paintings in many ways. They're items that players can place into jukeboxes to play the associated track. However, unlike paintings, which can be crafted, music discs must be found. This is also why players might not know about 1.21's three new music discs. They can only be found in trial chambers, and they aren't very common.
The first new music disc is "Precipice" by Aaron Cherof. This track is obtained from vaults and is the second most common 1.21 music disc, with a 3.6% chance of dropping.
The next new music disc is Lena Raine's "Creator." This music disc is the easiest to get in terms of drop rate, appearing as loot from 7.5% of ominous vaults. Realistically, however, they're probably the rarest new music discs, as they require players to take on ominous events to obtain them.
The final new music disc is for Raine's "Creator (Music Box)" version. As the name suggests, this is a version of "Creator" that has been remade using the tinks and bongs of music box bells. This is one of Minecraft 1.21's rarest items, dropping from only 1.4% of broken decorated pots.
3) New soundtrack
While the game's soundtrack is high-quality and iconic, it can also get boring after a few hundred hours. For this reason, many mute the game's music to listen to their favorite tracks in the background. Any players who have done this might not even be aware that 1.21 added a total of nine new tracks to the game's soundtrack.
Five of these new tracks are biome-specific tracks as well, meaning that they won't be played outside of their set regions. This makes it even more likely that players will miss them. The other four tracks are generic background songs that will be played in any biome without their own music.
4) Trial spawner designs

Normally, spawners can only be identified by the mob puppet found within them. However, trial chambers buck this trend by having each trial spawner surrounded by a specific pattern of blocks based on the mob within. For example, slime spawners can be identified by their moss blocks, while spider spawners are easy to ID through the cobwebs covering them.
This means that if players can learn these patterns, they can quickly see what mobs a room will contain, even if the actual spawners are too far away to see inside. It's also a touch that's easy to miss while scrambling around fighting off the hordes of mobs found in Minecraft's new most dangerous structure.
5) New potions
1.21 introduced four new Minecraft potions, for the oozing, infestation, wind charged, and weaving effects. Ominous trial spawners will spit projectiles at players, which can include these new potions, but outside of this, it would be conceivable to never see these effects.
There's no in-game potion recipe book, meaning that there'd be no way to even know these effects existed without happening across them in a trial chamber, even for players who enjoy Minecraft potion brewing.
6) Trial Explorer Maps

Another easily missed 1.21 feature is the new cartographer trade. There's a new journeyman-level trade available from cartographers for a map to a nearby Minecraft trial chamber. This trade can replace the trade for a woodland mansion explorer map.
If a player doesn't use villager trading or just doesn't regularly use woodland mansion or ocean monument maps, it would be easy to never see that this new item was added to the game.
7) Wind burst
Wind burst is one of three Minecraft mace enchantments introduced in 1.21, alongside the weapon itself. It's also the only mace enchantment that can't be obtained via the enchanting table or trading and is only available as loot from an ominous vault, in the form of an enchanted book.
This means that if players don't get this enchantment while grinding out ominous events for a mace, they might move on and never encounter it. This would be a shame, as wind burst's pogo ability is a truly unique way to fight hostile Minecraft mobs.
