Minecraft comes in two versions: the widely available Bedrock Edition that is available for the Pocket Edition, all consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch), and PC. Meanwhile, the Java Edition comes only for PC and Mac. Although both versions are very similar in terms of gameplay features, there are some crucial areas where one version has something that the other does not.
While most of the features missing in either version of Minecraft can be ignored, some are quite important or fun to miss. Mojang Studios could take their time to come up with a definitive version of the game that combines the two, but fortunately, you need not wait, as there is a mod that can do just this.
In this article, we will be explaining the entire process of including all the features of Bedrock in the Java Edition.

Bedrockify mod for Minecraft
You need to have the game's Java Edition to add the mods. Bedrock Edition does not support mods and can only get add-ons that offer limited features and functionality. Let's look at the installation process of the Bedrockify mod before explaining what the mod includes.
To install the mod, follow these steps:
- Visit the mod’s official page on CurseForge and download the zip file. Download the latest version to match the game’s version.
- Once the file is downloaded, keep it handy.
- On your Windows home screen, use the run function and type in “%APPDATA%” and hit enter.
- This will open a folder. Look for the folder “.minecraft.”
- Open the folder and search for the “mods” folder. If you cannot find it, make one.
- Move the mod zip file to this folder. Make sure you have the Curse mod loader installed to run it.
- Open the game via CurseForge and that’s it.
The mod adds many features to the Java Edition of Minecraft. Some of these include:
- Bedrock Crafting Recipes (Toggleable).
- Bedrock-like chat.
- Bedrock Edition world color noise for grass and water.
- Idle hand animations.
- Held item descriptions (enchantments, books, and potions).
- Reach-around block placement.
- Quick armor swap.
- Dying and Fallen Trees!
- Bedrock Light block shading.
- Disable flying momentum (Drift) in creative mode.
- Stop elytra flying by pressing space on air.
- Bedrock bonemeal functionality for flowers and sugar cane.
Apart from the basic Bedrock Edition features, the mod also includes some great visual improvements, such as the dynamic Minecraft background being added to all menus instead of the generic dirt background.
