Minecraft's 1.21 update introduced four new status effects, complete with new potions and tipped arrows to apply to various targets. In case you're curious, creating the new tipped arrows in the 1.21 update is roughly similar to creating other tipped arrows, though you must know how to make the update's new potions to craft them.

With that in mind, it doesn't hurt to examine the process of crafting the new tipped arrows in Minecraft 1.21. Even though their crafting recipes are relatively basic, there are a few steps involved that some may not be familiar with.

You'll need a few resources to create Arrows of Oozing, Infested, Weaving, and Wind Charged in Minecraft 1.21. This includes the likes of arrows, a crafting table, a brewing stand, blaze powder, and more.

Below, you can find the resources required for making tipped arrows in Survival Mode as well as how they can be obtained:

  • Crafting Table: Crafted by combining four wooden plank blocks in your inventory's crafting grid or an existing crafting table.
  • Arrows: Crafted by combining flint (top-center slot), sticks (center slot), and feathers (bottom-center slot) in a crafting table. It can also be obtained by killing skeletons, strays, and bogged mobs. It's lootable from Minecraft's bastion remnant, jungle temple, pillager outpost, trial chamber, and village containers.
  • Brewing Stand: Crafted by combining three stone blocks (center-left, center-right, and center slots) and a blaze rod (top-center slot) in a crafting table. It's also found naturally in end ships, igloo basements, and village churches.
  • Blaze Powder: Crafted by placing blaze rods obtained from beating blaze mobs in nether fortresses in your inventory crafting space or on a crafting table.
  • Glass Bottles: Crafted by combining glass blocks (center-left, center-right, and bottom-center slots) in a crafting table or dropped by killing witches.
  • Water Bottles: Created by equipping an empty glass bottle and using it on a source of water.
  • Dragon's Breath: Created by equipping an empty glass bottle and using it on the Ender Dragon's fire breath when the fire lingers on the ground.
  • Cobwebs: Found in Minecraft's mineshafts, stronghold libraries, igloo basements, abandoned villages, woodland mansion spider spawn rooms, and around certain trial spawners found in trial chambers. It can be collected by using shears on them and mined with a Silk Touch-enchanted tool.
  • Slime Blocks: Obtained by combining nine slimeballs in a crafting table. Slimeballs can be obtained by killing slimes or by collecting them from sneezing panda mobs.
  • Stone Blocks: Generates throughout the Overworld both above ground and underground and can be mined with a pickaxe with Silk Touch. A normal pickaxe can also be used to obtain cobblestone which can then be smelted back into stone in a furnace.
  • Breeze Rods: Obtained by killing Minecraft 1.21's breeze mobs that spawn in trial chambers via trial spawner blocks surrounded by chiseled tuff blocks.
  • Gunpowder: Obtained by killing creepers, ghasts, and witches, and can also be looted from monster rooms, desert pyramids, shipwrecks, and woodland mansions. It can also occasionally be purchased from the Wandering Trader by using emeralds.
  • Nether Wart: Generates in nether fortress soul sand gardens as well as bastion remnant courtyards and can easily be broken with a Minecraft player's hands or any tool.

Once you've got the Minecraft resources necessary to create the tipped arrows, you can follow these steps to craft them:

  1. Place your water bottles in a brewing stand and place your blaze powder to fuel the stand. Place nether wart in the top slot to turn the water bottles into awkward potions.
  2. Next, place gunpowder in the top slot to convert the awkward potions into splash potions.
  3. Place Dragon's Breath in the top slot of the stand to convert the splash potions into lingering potions.
  4. If you'd like to make a Lingering Potion of Infestation, add stone blocks to the top slot of the brewing stand. For Lingering Potions of Oozing, add a slime block instead. For Lingering Potions of Wind Charged, add a breeze rod. For Lingering Potions of Weaving, add a cobweb block.
  5. Once you have your lingering potion, open a crafting table and place it in the center slot. Next, fill the remaining slots with arrows. With just eight arrows, you can create eight tipped arrows, but you can add more arrows and lingering potions into the crafting recipe to make more tipped arrows if required.

That's all there is to it! Crafting Minecraft 1.21's new arrows isn't a cheap method to undertake resource-wise, but if you're hoping to inflict the new status effects on enemy targets, it's a process worth investing your materials in.
