With the release of several betas and previews, this year’s major Minecraft update is closer than ever. The new features are nearly finalized and available in the latest beta and preview versions for Bedrock players to try. Betas, although sometimes unstable, are often more anticipated than stable releases because they provide a glimpse of what the game's future will look like.
In this article, we will guide players on how to download the newest available Minecraft 1.21 betas and previews for devices that run the Bedrock Edition.

The Bedrock Edition is widely available for a long list of devices. Below are the steps to download it:
Android
- Step 1: Launch the Google Play Store.
- Step 2: Search for Minecraft and click on it.
- Step 3: Scroll down to find the “join the beta” option.
- Step 4: A popup will appear warning about potential instability. Press the join button.
Once the steps above are completed, the beta joining process will begin, which can take a few minutes. Once done, launching the game will enter players into the latest beta version available. Players can also leave the beta program from the same app page on the Google Play Store.
iOS/iPadOS
iOS users need to download a separate app to try the beta updates. Here are the detailed steps:
- Step 1: Launch the App Store, search for the TestFlight app, and download it.
- Step 2: Open Safari and go to the game's official Preview page (you can find it by entering "redsto.ne/preview" in your browser).
- Step 3: Once the Minecraft webpage opens, scroll down to find iOS and click on the TestFlight link available there.
- Step 4: This link will take you to the TestFlight app. Here, press the “Accept” button.
Unfortunately, the number of iOS beta users allowed at a time is very limited. Many players will find that navigating to the TestFlight link says “beta is full”. Interested players can still try their luck.
Windows 10/11
Windows PC users can follow these steps to install a beta update:
- Step 1: Open the official game launcher.
- Step 2: Select “Minecraft for Windows.”
- Step 3: Click on the latest release option to find the dropdown menu and select the latest preview available.
- Step 4: Click on the install button.
Xbox
Xbox users can follow these two simple steps to get the beta update:
- Step 1: Search for Minecraft Preview on either the Store or Game Pass.
- Step 2: Select “Install.”
PlayStation
- Step 1: Launch the game.
- Step 2: Navigate to the settings.
- Step 3: Select the Preview option at the bottom.
- Step 4: Click on the "Get PlayStation Preview" option.
- Step 5: Select Download.
Since the latest betas are for the Tricky Trials update, players do not have to enable any experimental features in the game settings.
However, it is recommended that users create a new world to experience the new features. This is because launching worlds created on older versions can corrupt them, resulting in a loss of progress and data.
