Minecraft Preview 1.21.20.24 for Bedrock Edition debuted on July 25, 2024, making a handful of bug fixes while also removing support for the Deferred Technical Preview for devices older than the iPhone 8, the 8th Generation iPad, and the 5th Generation iPad mini. Even though this preview update isn't a massive one, you may still want to install it all the same.
Currently, the Minecraft Preview program for Bedrock Edition is available on Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4/5 consoles, Windows 10/11 PCs, and Android/iOS mobile devices. Since each platform can require a different approach for downloading the update, it doesn't hurt to examine the process for them.

PlayStation 4/5
Minecraft previews are relatively new to PlayStation 4/5 consoles, and they require a slightly different method to access compared to other platforms. Fortunately, the process is still incredibly easy and can be handled from within your copy of the game by using the steps below:
- Boot up the game from your dashboard or library and open your settings on the main menu.
- At the bottom of the settings sidebar, select Preview.
- Click on "Get PlayStation 4 Preview" or "Get PlayStation 5 Preview". Then, select download to add it to your queue for your respective console.
Windows 10/11 PCs
If you're playing Minecraft Bedrock on PC, downloading and updating the game is accomplished through different methods. If it's your first time downloading a preview, you can do so with the game's official launcher. However, if you've downloaded a preview before, you can update by way of the Microsoft Store. The steps to both options can be found below:
- If you're downloading a preview for the first time, open the official launcher client and select the Windows Edition from the game list. To the left of the green Install/Play button under the splash art, click the button that reads "Latest Release" and select "Latest Preview", then click the install button.
- If you've already installed a preview, open the Microsoft Store application on your PC and click the library tab, then the Games button. Find the listing for the preview and tap the Update button.
Android/iOS Mobile Devices
Depending on the operating system of your mobile device, accessing preview will be somewhat different between Android and iOS. If you're on Android, you can utilize the Google Play Store to opt into the preview, while iOS requires the use of Apple TestFlight instead. Both methods will be addressed in the steps below:
- On Android, open the Google Play Store and open the store page for the base game. Scroll down the page, find the "Join the Beta" section, and tap the join link. The preview will then replace the app for the base game.
- Download the Apple TestFlight application if you haven't already, then head to the TestFlight signup page for the preview. Sign up using your Apple account credentials, and you should receive an email from TestFlight. Open it and choose "View in TestFlight" and then tap Install to install the preview to your device.
That's all there is to it! Keep in mind that once the Minecraft preview is installed, it will typically automatically update on your platform. However, if you're on a Windows PC, you'll still need to use the Microsoft Store to initiate a manual update.
