Minecraft is a procedurally generated game that loads all the elements in large areas called “chunks.” While it seems that these chunks are seamless, they are not. You can find the chunk borders with different methods; some only require the help of a calculator while others require third-party websites such as Chunk Base. So in this article, we will explain all the methods of finding chunk borders in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Finding chunk border in Minecraft with Chunk Base

If you want to find out your world’s chunk borders without manually calculating, an easy way is to head over to the Chunk Base website. This website lets you easily find out all the important areas of your world such as biomes, treasures, woodland mansions, and even the newly added trial chambers.
To find your chunk border, scroll down the map to find a section where you can fill in your coordinates. Input your X and Y coordinates and click on “Go.” This will show your location on the map. From here, hover your mouse pointer over the map and you will find all the chunk information on the bottom right of the map.
This is the quickest and easiest way to find chunk borders. There are a couple of things to note: ensure you select the right game version and select the Bedrock Edition. You can find all of these options on the Chunk Base website.
The calculator method
If you cannot or do not want to go online and look for chunk borders, there’s another way to find them. You can easily calculate where the chunk border is if you know your coordinates and have a calculator in hand. Follow these steps:
- Take your X or Y coordinate value and divide it by 16
- Take the decimal value of the result and multiply it by 16
- Subtract this number with the X or Y coordinate you started with. This will give you the coordinates where the chunk border is.
For example, if your X coordinate is 45, then divide it by 16 which gives 2.8125. Now take .8125 and multiply it by 16, which gives 13. Lastly, subtract 13 from 45, which gives 32. So the chunk border is at X coordinate 32.
The mods method
If you do not want to do any of the above methods and want something that automatically shows the chunk borders during the gameplay, you can consider using mods. For example, the Markers for Minecraft resource pack by Foxynotail allows you to see the chunks, chunk borders, spawn spheres, coordinates, distance measure, Nether coordinates, and much more.
Out of all the methods, we prefer checking the Chunk Base method as it does not require any additional installation or calculations.
