How to get free Imaginaaaation head gear in Minecraft Bedrock

Minecraft's new collaboration with SpongeBob Squarepants has produced an all-new Bedrock Edition add-on. However, it won't be made available until August 20, 2024. In the meantime, you can claim a free piece of headgear from the current SpongeBob collaboration collection called the Imaginaaaation Rainbow. This item was inspired by the "Imaginaaaation" rainbow seen in the SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon show.

This free cosmetic can be claimed in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition via the dressing room feature. However, if you're unaware of how to do so, it doesn't hurt to examine the process. Here's how to claim your free headgear to display on any avatar you choose.

How to download the free Imaginaaaation Rainbow headgear for Minecraft Bedrock

To claim this free SpongeBob cosmetic, you'll need to log into your copy of Minecraft Bedrock using your Microsoft account credentials. Then, you have to access the dressing room/character creator. On this screen, you can find the cosmetics you own and can purchase and download items from the marketplace.

Here are the steps for downloading the Imaginaaaation Rainbow:

1. Run your copy of Minecraft Bedrock on any compatible platform, including consoles, Windows PCs, or Android/iOS mobile devices. Be sure to log in with your Microsoft account credentials at the main menu if you haven't done so already.
2. Click the Dressing Room option under your avatar.
3. Create a new character or choose to edit an existing one.
4. Click the Style button and then Headwears.
5. Scroll down underneath "all headwears" and find the icon for the Imaginaaaation Rainbow. It can be tough to spot among all the other available cosmetics. The headgear has a SpongeBob icon as well as an arrow pointing downward to signify that it is on discount.
6. Once you've clicked the icon of the Imaginaaaation Rainbow, click the "get" button marked with a MineCoin on the right side of the screen. This adds the cosmetic to your collection. You can then equip it to your avatar directly from this screen.

That's all there is to it. Once claimed, this product will remain tied to your Microsoft account so you can access it on any Minecraft Bedrock platform as long as you're logged in. However, there's no guarantee that this particular piece of headware will remain free indefinitely, so you'll definitely want to log in and claim it just in case it ends up becoming a paid cosmetic later on down the line.
