One of the most interesting aspects of Minecraft Bedrock is that there is technically a third version of the game hidden within it. This version of the game is known as Education Edition and was later expanded on and made into its own standalone program. Since the original version of Education Edition is found inside of Bedrock, you can actually combine it with Bedrock add-ons, which are essentially mods.
Everything you need to know about modding Education Edition using custom add-ons can be found detailed below.

How to mod Minecraft Education Edition using add-ons
1) Find an add-on
- CurseForge link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft-bedrock/search?page=1&pageSize=20&sortBy=relevancy&class=addons
The first thing you'll need to do to mod Bedrock is find an add-on to install. There are many add-ons available through the Minecraft Marketplace, though most of them will cost Minecoins to buy. There are also websites out there where the community has uploaded free add-ons to use.
In this example, will be using the CurseForge website, as it's one of the safest and most trustworthy out there when it comes to additional game content.
2) Download it
Once you've found an add-on that seems fun or interesting, you'll need to download it. This can be done either by hovering over the add-on and hitting the download button that appears or by clicking on the add-on page and pressing the button.
4) Import the add-on
Now that you've downloaded your add-on, it will need to be imported into the game. Thankfully, Mojang has automated this process. All you need to do is double-click on the add-on in your downloads, and it should start importing.
Keep in mind that if you're on a console or mobile device, you might need to download a third-party file management app to view and import the downloaded modification.
5) Go to create a new world
Once the import process has finished, you'll need to make a Minecraft world and activate your new content. The import should have automatically opened the game, leaving you at the main menu. From here, hit the "Play" button and then "Create New" to enter the world creation screen.
6) Turn on Education Edition
You'll also need to ensure that Minecraft Education Edition is turned on. The toggle for this is also found within the world creation screen but under the "Cheats" section rather than "Behavior Packs." Click into this section and scroll down. The toggle for Education Edition will be near the bottom of this screen.
7) Activate the add-ons
The last thing you need to do is activate the Minecraft add-on. Scroll down the left-hand side of the screen until you see a section labeled "Behavior Packs." Click on this. The add-on that you installed should be found underneath the "Available" section. Enable it by pressing the "Activate" button to the right of the add-on's name.
From here, you're good to create the world and start enjoying your modded version of Bedrock Education Edition.
