This mod was first created back in October 2020, a few months after Mojang Studios released the 1.16 Nether update for Minecraft. It was created by Quiqueck, who has worked on several other projects for the sandbox game as well. Since it was released at the perfect time, it became massively popular in the community. As of now, it has over 22,000,000 downloads from the CurseForge website alone.

With this mod, the developer has added new End biomes and expanded older ones. Every biome has its own resources, creatures, and atmosphere. The sky will also have a new texture, with stars, purple nebulas, and a personalized outlook. Custom sounds, music, and effects are used in every biome to give it a lively, engaging feel. In short, this mod completely changes the look and feel of the desolate realm.

BetterEnd mod contains special End generators and Central Island-specific structures. The new generator will change the height, form, and topography of islands, making it unique in each world. The mod even adds caves to the End islands, with special resources located inside them.

How to download and install the BetterEnd mod for Minecraft

First, it is worth mentioning that this mod only works with the Fabric modding API. These kinds of software are important to install since they allow players to run any mod in the sandbox game. Although there are others like Forge, Quilt, NeoForge, etc., BetterEnd only supports Fabric.

When downloading Fabric from its official website, make sure to download it for Minecraft 1.21, since the mod currently supports the Tricky Trials update.

After downloading and installing Fabric, you can search for the BetterEnd mod on CurseForge. You can select the game version from the right-side column and download the latest mod version.
