How to hide Paper Doll in Minecraft

Minecraft allows you to make the game just the way you want it to be with the several options it lets you choose from. From changing how the game looks to even finer things like reducing the transparency of the Hotbar on the screen. But even the most seasoned players might not know some things. For example, the Paper Doll feature lets you see a model of your character when you run or engage in combat.

So, how can you hide or show your character’s paper doll? We explain the easy steps of doing so as well as how you can make the game more impressive. Note that paper dolls are only available in Minecraft Bedrock Edition but can be added to the Java Edition using specific mods.

A Paper Doll model is great if you want to see how your character looks with all the different character-creator items that are available. This is even more important when you play the game in first-person mode, which barely lets you see how your character looks.

To enable paper dolls in the game, all you need to do is follow these steps:

• Launch Minecraft and then head over to Settings.
• In the Settings tab, head over to the “Video” option. This is where you can tweak all the visual settings of the game.
• Here, by default, the “Hide Paper Doll” option is toggled off. You can enable this option.
• Go back to the game, and you will notice that a small model of your character would be on the top left corner of the screen.

To make the game more immersive, you can even reduce the opacity of the Hotbar from the same menu location. This would only make the Hotbar fully visible when you select it. If you want a completely clean experience for taking screenshots or recording, toggle the “Hide HUD” option to get rid of everything from the screen.

Do note that when you're in this mode, all the on-screen menus are still active. If you want to get all the HUD elements, touch or click where the pause menu is usually located and it should open the settings. If you cannot find the menu, quit and start the game again. You can also disable controller hints if you are playing on consoles.
