When players first enter Minecraft, they can roam around the near-endless world that keeps generating. Since walking is the most basic form of traveling around the game's map, the developers have added various perks to help players walk faster. Though they can press the sprint button to run, players can run even faster with some of the special in-game effects.
Here are some of the ways to walk faster in Minecraft.
Methods to walk faster in Minecraft
1) Get speed status effect

Speed is a status effect in Minecraft that allows players to walk and run faster than usual. This is the simplest but most effective way to walk and run faster in the game, on any terrain or dimension.
Speed status effect can be obtained by two methods: a potion of swiftness, and a beacon. A potion of swiftness can be made with an awkward potion brewed with a rabbit's foot. The potion will give the speed effect for a few minutes. Its durability or strength can be enhanced with redstone dust or glowstone dust, respectively.
On the other hand, a beacon can also give the status effect. However, it is much more difficult to obtain, since it requires killing the Wither boss mob. When a beacon is created with a Nether Star, players can get the speed status effect in a specified area only. However, that effect will not go away.
2) Soul speed enchantment
Another method to walk fast in Minecraft is to use the soul speed enchantment. This is a treasure enchantment that can only be obtained by bartering with piglins or raiding Bastion Remnants in the Nether.
This enchantment is boot-exclusive and will allow players to walk faster than normal on soul sand and soil. Without any enchantment, players would usually slow down on these two blocks. With the power-up, however, they can walk and run much faster than usual.
Many players make soul sand walkways in the Nether and even Overworld and use soul speed enchanted boots to cover ground much more quickly.
3) Walking on ice
On ice, players will notice that they will be sliding longer than usual when they stop after walking. This means that ice blocks have a special effect on players, making them slide more. This mechanic can be used to walk faster.
While sprinting, users simply need to jump as they walk. This creates a sliding effect that helps them propel forward much more than usual, essentially increasing their movement speed.
