The blocky world of Minecraft behaves much like the real world. There are weather cycles, different terrains and biomes, and a day and night cycle. The game's day and night cycle is much faster, and this can be problematic for many people. Builders who take massive projects that require hundreds of in-game days can find the day and night cycle an impediment. For these cases, it is better to suspend this cycle and make it always day in the game.

There is a way to make it always day in Minecraft. It requires you to use a specific command. This article will tell you how to do just that, along with all the things to keep in mind.

Suspend time and make it always a day in the game, use the day night cycle command. But before we get into that, you need to keep some things in mind. Using commands in Minecraft is considered cheating in the game and will disable all the achievements. It's recommended not to use commands in your survival world.

Before we get into the commands, you need to enable them from the game menu. To do that, follow these steps for the Java Edition:

  • Launch the game and open the world where you want to use the command
  • Once loaded, pause the game and select “Settings” from the menu.
  • Here, select the “Open to LAN” option.
  • Finally, toggle the “Enable Cheats” option to “On.”
  • You can go back to the world and start using commands.

Enabling commands is easier for the Bedrock Edition. All you need to do is head over to Settings>>Game Settings>>Cheats. Toggle it on and you'll be good to go.

Once commands are enabled, click on the chat option where you can type in messages. Write this command:

/gamerule doDaylightCycle false

With this command, the day night cycle is toggled off and the time is suspended to just day. While there is an overly complicated way of doing the same thing using command blocks, it is a much better and faster option that is recommended.

Once the command is executed, it will always be day in your Minecraft world. This will allow you to work on any project you want for as long as you want without the need for sleeping or lighting up areas.
