Warner Bros and Mojang Studios recently released the trailer for Minecraft's official movie. The trailer showcased how four characters stumble upon the blocky world and embark on a journey to save the magical world and return to their real worlds. In the trailer, the world that is depicted looks like how a regular game uses high-resolution resource packs and shaders.

Hence, there is a way to make the actual game look close to how it looks in the upcoming live-action film.

This article details how to download and install specific Minecraft modifications to do so.

Note: The resource pack and shaders are chosen by the writer. There are several other alternatives that can also resemble the movie's graphics as well.

Ways to make Minecraft look like its upcoming live-action movie

First, you need to find an extremely realistic texture pack that can make Minecraft somewhat like its upcoming live-action movie. ModernArch is a fairly popular resource pack that can be useful in this case. The 128x version is free on the CurseForge website, whereas higher levels of resolution are present on the developer's Patreon page.

Once the latest resource pack is downloaded, you can open the game, head to the settings, and find a resource pack section. In that, there will be a button named "Open Resource Pack Folder". This will directly open the folder in which the downloaded resource pack must be stored for it to reflect in the game itself.

It is worth mentioning that you should also install performance mods like Sodium and Iris shader support in order to run the resource pack and shader without any issues.

Download and Install Complementary shaders for Minecraft

Next, you can search for complementary shaders to get the beautiful look of how the Minecraft movie looked in the trailer. Shaders adds new lighting and shadow engine to the game, making textures and blocks emit realistic light. Along with that, shaders also add reflections, so that textures and water surfaces can reflect light, making the block world more realistic.

In this instance, complementary shaders can be a great choice to make the game look like its live-action movie.

These shaders can be directly downloaded from the official website; you must choose the reimagined one since it adds blocky clouds, something that the official trailer of the film also has.

Once it is downloaded, you can open the game and head to the shaders section in video settings. Make sure to install either OptiFine or Sodium beforehand since shaders will not work if one of these two mods is not installed.

After you are in the shader section, you can hit the button that says "Open Shader folder" and copy-paste the latest shader pack into it. This will allow the game to read the shader pack and activate it in-game itself.

If both the resource pack and shader run properly, players will experience Minecraft as it looked in the game's official movie.
