Minecraft features basic weather mechanics that randomly change from time to time. It has three weather types: normal, rainy, and thunderstorm. When the game decides to switch to rainy weather, most biomes will experience rain as usual, but the cold regions of the world will have snow during that time.
However, you can make it snow whenever you want in Minecraft. This article will explore how to do so.
Steps to make it snow in Minecraft
1) Find a cold biome where it snows

First, you must find a cold biome where snow falls instead of raindrops. This includes many regions, like Snowy Slopes, Jagged Peaks, Snowy Plains, Grove, Frozen Ocean, Frozen Peaks, Windswept Hills, Snowy Taiga, etc. With luck, you can find these biomes near your base or spawn. Otherwise, you must travel in all four directions in search of them.
Finding cold biomes is essential since they're the only biomes where you can see snow occur and also find snow blocks and sheets forming on the ground.
2) Wait for the weather to change or use commands to make it snow
Once you have found a cold biome, there are two ways to witness snow: to wait for the game to turn the weather into rainy weather or by manually changing the weather through commands.
If you want to make it snow manually, you must first activate cheats in that particular world so that you can use commands in Minecraft. If you are in a survival world, head to the pause menu, select the "Open to LAN" tab, toggle on the cheats, and then start the LAN world. If you are in a creative world, you can normally input commands.
The aim is to make it rain, which is essentially snow if you are in a cold biome. To do this, type /weather rain in the chat box. As you type the command, the game will show options for different commands and the specifics of the weather command.
After you type the command, hit enter. The game will instantly change the weather and make it snow in the cold biome. If you move towards a more temperate biome, you will see rain.
