A sweet berry farm in Minecraft is surprisingly useful. When compared to more iconic farms, such as iron, witch, and raid farms, totally automatic sweet berry farms are much more niche but still great to have around. These berries are quite handy as an early game food and can even be used to kill mobs in other farms while in bush form, due to their thorny nature.

Everything you need to know about making a fully automated sweet berry farm can be found in detail below.

Sweet berry farms in Minecraft are incredibly cheap and easy to construct. The most expensive part of this Minecraft build is the railway collections system, which requires a bit of gold and redstone to build. Apart from this, the farm is relatively inexpensive.

The first thing you'll need to do to make this sweet berry farm in Minecraft is place down a double chest with two hoppers leading into it. You can use only a single Minecraft hopper, as there shouldn't be any bottlenecking issues, but adding two will make sure this is never a problem.

3) Add the rails and hopper minecarts

Next, add a system of rails and hopper minecarts above the collection system to continue building the sweet berry farm in Minecraft. Since the sweet berries need to be planted on full dirt blocks, these are required to grab the farm's output materials. Make sure to place redstone torches to power the rails, ensuring the minecarts keep moving and collecting the berries efficiently.

Once you've finished up the rails and collection system, you'll want to make the actual sweet berry farm. Place down a block of dirt above each piece of rail, and then plant a sweet berry bush on each dirt.

5) Add a fox and seal up the farm

The final thing to do to make a sweet berry farm in Minecraft is add in a fox. The fox will harvest fully grown sweet berries to grab a new one to hold. Make sure to seal the farm so that discarded or dropped berries are collected by the hopper minecarts and fed into the collection system. This will also prevent the fox from wandering out and escaping.
