Being able to use a Minecraft farm while not actively playing the game, commonly referred to as being AFK, is one of the things that makes them so powerful. Passively accumulating both XP and item drops while asleep or doing other things is incredibly powerful. One of the best and easiest ways to fully automate a farm in this way is by using a trident killer. This machine takes advantage of the ability to move thrown trident entities to continually deal damage to entities.
Everything you need to know about making a simple and efficient Bedrock trident killer can be found detailed down below.

Since this trident killer farm uses a regular mob spawner as its base, it's relatively cheap. Its most expensive components are the hopper used to collect drops and the observers used to create a basic Minecraft redstone clock.
The hardest part of this simple trident killer to get is the trident itself. These elusive items can only be obtained by killing a dangerous drowned equipped with one or by getting exceptionally lucky while looting a Minecraft vault within a trial chamber.
1) Find a monster room
The first thing you should do is track down Minecraft's oldest structure, the monster room. These small structures have a monster spawner in their center, making them ideal for simple mob farms. You'll want to track down a skeleton or zombie spawner rather than a spider one. Spiders are able to climb walls, which makes them very annoying to transport.
Once you've found a monster room, you'll need to clear out the area around it. Start by removing all blocks in a 4x4 area around the spawner. Clearing these blocks will help the Minecraft farm's rates, as mobs will be able to spawn in essentially the entirety of the spawner's radius. Make sure to add a pillar from the top of the spawner to the ceiling, as this will stop anything from spanwing here.
2) Add water
Next, add a line of water source blocks along one wall. This should stop one block before reaching the opposite wall.
Dig down one block along these water source blocks, making a single channel. Add a water source block to one side of this channel. The water should flow in such a way that it pushes all Minecraft mobs produced in the farm to a single block.
3) Create the mob-collection channel
Dig down another block here and add yet another water source block. Turn so that your hack is facing the spawner and dig out three blocks. Then, turn right and continue the tunnel until the water stops moving you. This will form the drop chute for the farm. Dig down four blocks at the end of the water stream.
4) Add a collection system
You'll next want to add a double chest and a hopper above it. Place slabs around the hopper to stop the mobs from seeing you while the farm runs. Temporarily remove a large area around the hopper, as this is where the trident pusher will go.
5) Make a triden pusher
Trident killers work by forcing a player-thrown trident to constantly move. This causes the game to allow it to deal damage. This means that all you need to do is make a small redstone piston clock to push a trident back and forth on top of the hopper.
The easiest way to make one of these devices is to place two pistons on either side of the hopper facing in. Next, place two observers facing each other. They will constantly see each other activate, creating a small, endless loop. Then, place redstone dust to connect each piston to a different observer. They should activate back and forth.
6) Remove torches and add a trident
The farm is essentially finished now. All you need to do is activate it.
Return to the collection area you made and throw your trident in between the Minecraft pistons. You should see and hear it getting pushed back and forth over the hopper. Return to the spawner room and break all your torches to make mobs start spawning.
These mobs should be carried to the trident by the water and then killed over the Minecraft hopper. Their drops will be collected, and since the trident is considered a player kill, they will still drop XP to help you level up.
