The Nether is one of the most dangerous areas of any Minecraft world. It's filled with lethal threats, such as wither skeletons, ghasts, blazes, piglin hunting squads, lava oceans, and random pitfalls. This means that building the best possible base in the dimension is highly recommended to keep players safe from these highly dangerous mobs.

Everything you need to know to create the ultimate Nether survival base can be found detailed below. This will ensure that you are never caught off guard in this dangerous dimension again.

How to make the ultimate Minecraft Nether base

1) Collect materials

The first thing you'll want to do when constructing the ultimate Minecraft survival base for the Nether is collect the materials to construct it. You'll want to use a ghast-fireball-resistant, nonflammable block. Stone and its many different varieties are the easiest blocks to get for this, but you can use any blocks that meet this criteria.

You'll also want to craft any utility blocks and workstations the base will need. This includes furnaces, crafting tables, chests, and other similar blocks. Doing this ahead of time will help keep you from having to make any unnecessary trips back to the overworld while working on this Minecraft build.

2) Find a good building spot

You next need to find a good spot to actually build the survival base. This will depend entirely on personal preference, as each of the Nether's biomes can inspire different builds. For example, basalt deltas might inspire a Minecraft castle, while warped forests might make players build some kind of rustic Nether village.

This example base uses a flat stretch of Nether waste, as it's a nice open area to build in, similar to an overworld plains biome.

3) Create the main room

Now that you've decided where you're going to build your Nether base in Minecraft, you'll want to build up the base's main room. This is where you'll want to place the workstations and other items you'll use the most frequently while in the Nether. This will ensure that you waste as little time unnecessarily running around as possible.

The size and design of this room will depend on your resources and future needs. Try to leave room for future expansion while not building something too large for the resources you currently have.

4) Add supplementary wings

A truly ultimate Nether survival base can function independently of the overworld. This means adding different wings to the base for different farms and mechanics. For example, you will want to make areas for farming trees and for mooshrooms to live in. They're the best mob to bring into the Nether, as they can produce unlimited amounts of mushroom stew for food.

Other useful sections would be full-level 30 enchanting areas, Minecraft potion brewing rooms, storage areas, and super smelters. Piglin bartering farms can help make up for the lack of iron in the Nether, as well. These different areas will allow you to survive within this inhospitable dimension indefinitely.
