Minecraft recently released The Garden Awakens Drop for both Bedrock and Java Editions. This drop brings a new Pale Garden biome, a Creaking mob, and several building blocks and items. Right after the drop was released on December 3, 2024, millions of players downloaded it and tried to find the new features. However, they quickly realized that they were much rarer than they anticipated.
An argument can now be made that Pale Gardens are as rare as the rarest biome in Minecraft, which is the Mushroom Fields.

For several years, Mushroom Fields were considered the rarest biome in Minecraft. They were not connected to any other ones except for the ocean, had no trees, only spawned mooshrooms, and had no hostile mobs. This is a unique biome that many players crave to find in their worlds.
In 2024, with the addition of Pale Garden, the Mushroom Fields now have a competition. Both the biomes' rarity can be determined with a seed map tool.
In essence, a Minecraft seed map is a tool that displays your world's entire map, including the biomes and structures you haven't yet loaded into the game. Websites created by a community of Minecraft enthusiasts have these seed map tools. In a given world, a seed map can display both biomes and structures or only one of the two. The best website for this tool is chunkbase.
When several seeds were checked in the biome finder seed map tool, it quickly became clear that the Pale Garden biomes were as rare, if not slightly rarer, than Mushroom Fields.
In the image above, players can clearly see that the purple blobs (Mushroom Fields) are slightly larger than the dark gray blobs (Pale Garden). This was the case on most seeds, proving that Pale Gardens can now be categorized as one of the rarest biomes in the game.
Mojang could change Pale Garden's generation rate after players' complaints
Since many players, including @ibxtoycat, voiced their concern regarding Pale Garden's rarity, Mojang might release a small follow-up update to make the biome more common. However, nothing has yet been officially announced by the developers, as of this writing.
