In Minecraft, you can place and remove blocks using your bare hands or a designated tool based on the block's type of block. However, the sandbox game also gives you the ability to write and execute in-game commands in specific game modes when cheats are enabled. One of these commands allows you to fill a predefined area with any block, including air.
Since air can also be filled, it can be used to remove any block in that specific area. Here's how players can remove blocks using this command.
Steps to remove blocks in Minecraft using commands
1) Pick an area from where you want to remove blocks

First, note down two coordinates of the area you need to remove blocks from. The first coordinate can be taken from the bottom corner of an area and the second must be taken from the diagonally opposite corner. So, between the two coordinates, the top and bottom ones, the entire 3D area between them will change.
In the picture showcased above, we removed this entire Minecraft kelp farm using commands, the first coordinate was taken from its back corner where the right arrow is pointing, and the second coordinate was taken from the front top-left side.
Every block between the two coordinates will change once both are fed to a fill command.
2) Use the fill command
Once you have coordinates from both sides of an area, use the /fill command and fill out the first and the second coordinates one after another. Each axis number can be written normally and separated with a space bar.
After writing both coordinates, type air and select the correct code for in-game air which will be minecraft:air. This will essentially fill the mentioned area with air blocks, removing any other block present there otherwise.
After the command has been written, you can press enter to execute it. If everything is written correctly, the command will work properly and remove all blocks from that specific area.
