Minecraft has some interesting mechanics that make playing it both fun and challenging. Among them is the process of curing a zombified villager. Villagers can be attacked by zombies, which turn them into special zombies. Unlike normal zombies, you can turn zombie villagers back to normal.

While you probably know how to cure a villager in Minecraft, here’s something you might be unaware of: there is a way to speed up the process.

The good thing about speeding up the villager curing process in Minecraft is that you do not need to acquire anything special. All you need to have is some beds and/or iron bars.

Once you have these items, you must first do all the basic things needed to cure a zombified villager. This includes throwing a potion of weakness toward it after you have captured it in a closed space and feeding it a golden apple to start the healing process.

Usually, the healing process takes around three to five minutes in real time. However, while this is happening, the game looks for certain items (beds or iron bars) nine blocks around the zombified villager to speed up the process. This means that if you place beds and/or iron bars within a nine-block radius of the zombified villager, the healing process gets accelerated.

Now, there’s a limit to how many beds or bars are actually functional within this radius: 14.

This means you can place a maximum of 14 beds or iron bars in a nine-block radius around the zombified villager to accelerate the healing process the most. However, make sure you stay away from the zombified villager when all this is happening as it is at its strongest when it is getting cured.

Note that having the maximum amount of beds/iron bars around the zombified villager will speed up the curing process by an average of around 4%. This might not sound like much, but when you consider how cheap beds and iron bars are (at least after a while in the game), 4% is a good speed bump.
