Trial chambers are, inarguably, the largest and most impressive of Minecraft 1.21's features. They are also among the most dangerous structures in the entire game, filled to the brim with dangerous mobs and even better loot, such as tridents, heavy cores, ominous bottles, and enchanted books. As such, many want to know how you can survive these structures to get at the amazing items within them.

Everything you need to know about successfully taming 1.21 trial chambers can be found below.

How to successfully take on Minecraft trial chambers

1) Craft gear

The first thing you'll want to do when accessing a dangerous Minecraft trial chamber is make some basic gear. This includes items like torches, shields, weapons, and armor. The weapons and armor should be iron at the minimum, but diamond is preferred.

This will provide you with the basics to stay alive and fight mobs — a great foundation to work with for future preparations.

2) Enchant gear

Now that you've made a set of armor and weapons, you'll want to enchant them. Even iron armor is more than good enough for trial chambers if it is well enchanted with protection. Swords could benefit from the fire aspect, which lets them deal damage over time. Sharpness or smite for extra damage could also be good for these weapons.

Bows have powerful Minecraft enchantments available to them, including power for damage, punch for knockback, flame for damage over time, and infinity for unlimited arrows.

Crossbows also support handy enchantments, including multishot bolts and piercing shots.

3) Brew potions

Many of Minecraft's best potions, both in terms of buffs and debuffs, are amazing in trial chambers. On the debuff side of things, potions of poison are great for dealing damage over time, and potions of weakness can keep mobs from being too dangerous.

For buffs, regeneration potions are particularly useful, as they restore large numbers of hearts over time. Slow falling potions are also handy, as trial chambers are filled with pitfalls that can deal huge damage if you aren't careful. Strength potions stand out since they make you much deadlier in melee combat.

4) Collect ample food

Collecting an ample stock of food is part of the preparation for the trial chambers. The best options in this regard, like golden carrots, will help ensure you can keep your health high.

Golden apples are also good but less useful as food items; they work better as utility options. When eaten, you'll get two hearts of temporary HP as well as regeneration II for five seconds.

5) Farm honey

Honey might seem like a strange material to farm, but it's incredibly handy for beating trial chambers due to these structures having both cave spiders and the bogged. Consuming that resource can cure poison while leaving other statuses, such as buffs, intact. Even a basic bee farm should provide plenty of honey bottles for you safely attack a trial chamber.

6) Trade with a cartographer

One of the most important steps for besting a trial chamber is to set up a Minecraft villager trading hall. Cartographer villagers have a journeyman-level trade for a trial chamber explorer map, which will take you straight to a nearby chamber for just a few emeralds.

Now that you've gotten your hands on this map, you'll need to follow it to the Minecraft structure and dig a tunnel down to it. Thankfully, these trial chambers are quite large, so it should be easy to find.

7) Take on each spawner

Many mobs in trial chambers are quite strong, so too many of them can quickly become lethal. Be careful to only activate one or two spawners at a time to avoid dangerous and overwhelming groups from spawning. Keep an eye on your health, eat food as needed, and reapply any buff potions that expire.

8) Collect loot

Make sure to stop by each spawner as they are defeated to collect any loot they drop. If any trial keys are given to you, they can then be used to open Minecraft vaults. These can provide some of the best loot trial chambers have to offer, including enchanted books, ominous bottles, and tridents.
