Announced back in 2020, bundles have finally made their way into Minecraft with the Bundles of Bravery drop update. For a long time, shulker boxes were the only way to declutter your inventory. With the addition of bundles, players now have easy and early access to a portable storage option.

In this guide, we will take a closer look at bundles in Minecraft and explain how you can craft and use one.

To craft a bundle in Minecraft, you will need:

  • One string
  • One leather

There are many ways to obtain string in Minecraft. The easiest method is by killing spiders, which drop both string and spider eyes. Leather can be obtained by killing cows, horses, mooshrooms, and a few other mobs. Cows can be found in most Overworld biomes, while spiders are a common hostile mob found in dark caves or on the surface at night.

To craft a bundle in Minecraft, follow these three simple steps:

  1. Use a crafting table or open your crafting menu by pressing the E key on PC. PlayStation players need to press the square button, while Xbox players should press the X button on their controllers.
  2. Place one string in the top slot of the crafting grid.
  3. Place one leather just below the string.

Congratulations! You have crafted a bundle. Now, move it to your inventory to start using it.

Since crafting a bundle only requires a 2x1 crafting grid, you can create it while exploring Minecraft's vast worlds without needing to carry or use a crafting table.

Adding items to a bundle

Now that you have crafted a bundle in Minecraft, you will need to add items to it. There are two ways to do this. You can either pick up an item in your inventory, move it over the bundle, and left-click, or pick up the bundle itself, move it over items, and left-click on them. Both of these processes will add the item to the bundle, with the UI updating appropriately.

To remove items from the inside of a bundle in Minecraft, you'll need to hover over the item within the inventory and right-click. This will remove the item added in most recently since bundles operate on a first-in, last-out system.

As previously mentioned, only the topmost Minecraft item in a bundle can be removed by right-clicking on it. However, there's a slight workaround for this. Any items that appear in the bundle's tooltip can be selected by using either the scroll wheel or number keys. They will then be removed by a right-click.

The bundle's texture also changes, and the currently selected item is displayed inside of it, which is admittedly a very cute touch.
