Perhaps no other game franchise in the last decade has been as resilient as Minecraft, as it has been able to evolve and stay relevant. This title, which began as a somewhat small, indie offering, has dominated sales charts as one of the premier franchises of the industry.
Minecraft has grown into a significant force in the industry, and it has done so by continually evolving. This game already had a pretty engaging and in-depth gameplay loop from the start, but Mojang has built upon that as well.
The essential part of developing a long-running game like Minecraft is to retain the player base and add more gamers. Doing so is always the goal, and Minecraft does this better than almost any other offering.
