"I didn't realize the new update came with schizophrenia": Minecraft player faces weird glitch causing the ruined portal to disappear

Minecraft has its fair share of bugs and errors, especially after the game gets a new update. The only silver lining in this cloud of bugs is that most of them are minor ones and do not affect the gameplay too much. At best, these bugs are sometimes amusing and even hilarious. And now, a player has discovered another such bug in the game.

A Minecraft player and Reddit user by the name of Skrunkster posted a short video clip on the subreddit of the game showing a very bizarre bug. The video shows the player flying around an area at night time. In the distance, we can see a ruined portal. But just as the player approaches it, it vanishes into thin air.

The original poster uploaded this clip with a caption pointing out the absurdity of this bug:

The caption refers to how people with this condition see things that do not exist, much like the video shows the ruined portal that was not there. Reacting to this bizarre bug, helicophell commented that the chunk came preloaded with the ruined portal but was removed when it was being generated.

Another user by the name of Tokeli asked in confusion how come the chunk was preloaded before and despawned when it was time to generate. TheCakeIsALieX5 gave clarity to this question, saying that it is quite normal for chunks that are not generated to be visible from a distance in the Bedrock Edition of the game.

Perhaps the most common thing in the discussion was how people expected the Bedrock Edition of the game to be buggy. Minecraft Bedrock edition is full of bugs and players are rarely surprised when someone finds them. A user by the name of Batiti10 asked what actually happened in the clip.

User NeetMastery replied with just the word “Bedrock” referring to the buggy state of the game, and a cheeky response from Steve_2262 stating they need not hear anything more, implied the common knowledge about Bedrock Edition’s state.

Minecraft bridging the gap between Java and Bedrock Edition

Minecraft comes in two editions: the Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition. While the Java Edition is available only for PC and Mac, Bedrock Edition is available across all devices, including consoles. But slowly, Mojang Studios is bridging the gap between the two versions.

With each update, such as the upcoming 1.21.10, the developers at Mojang Studios are leveling out the differences and perhaps one day, we might get to see just one version across all platforms and devices.
